Americans still texting dangerously!!!

Well, how about settin' up a " Smart Safety Textin' Class " for all dummies ? :giggle:

While it may not completely discourage people from texting while driving, the fine for doing so should be raised from $20 or $50 to $100 or more.

I've always texted while ridin' in a bus. :giggle:

I hope I never travel on the same road as those of you who text while driving. :Ohno:

Think you were talking about a deaf Texan gal killed by a train, not a car while texting... is that the one you talked about? She was a Miss Deaf Texas, I believe.

Right, I think that some deafies were hurt or killed by car. I will find out later

I had received some text messages while driving on highway or street but can't text till stopped.

Guilty to do that :o

Since I work nights and the highway is straight and very few cars go by, so I do texting. But when the new law takes effect in January, then I can't text while drive anymore til I stop and with the engine turned off.

I must admit I'm guilty of it, too. However, my consequences were different (from what I read). I got a citation for careless operation because I was texting while driving. I also got in small wreck because I was texting. Did that discourage me? Nope. I'm too hardheaded. And of all people, the one who fusses at me the most for texting while driving? My 12 year old daughter.

Wow that train egineer wasnt even doing his job. Very stupid of him.

When I had a car in NZ, only time I check my pager is when I stop at the red light. I wouldn't do texting and drive same time.

Today I don't have a car in Australia, so I do texting on the bus and train.

Only at stoplights.

Same here, I only text at stoplights or while waiting for a train to clear off the tracks. Other than those two instances, I dont text while driving.

However, I admit to texting while walking....... :giggle:
