I did research, I found out that those men who got gout more than women (few).

For anyone with gout avoid high purine foods. Interesting.
 
Mother Day 2002, I got serious rheumatoid arthritis. All my joints from jaws to toe. Hard time to walk up/downstair, get in/out from car, hard time to look back, not comfortable sign/fingerspelling, hard time to open door at bathroom, hard time to use toilet paper to clean my butt, etc.... After 2 week, back to near normal but take a year to get feel better.

Now, I am fine but.... Every morning, I got up from bed. Little stiff for 15 minutes. Later, I feel fine.

6 years ago, I learned that women got RA, 3 times more than men.
I wonder how many deaf male got RA?

I forget to say.... I have no idea when last time, I got flu or cold. Over 20 years without flu shot. We live Northeast (between NYC and Washington).

After mother day 2002.....
I got new allergic to pollen during spring time at between end of march and first week of may.
Everytime spring season, I got sore all my joints for few weeks.

Still no flu or cold or sore throat for long times.

Yes, It from genetic family. I hope not happen to me. My mom's doctor suggest her to do exercise and work on her joints adjust when she is exercise. It's very slow to work out. She is still work at Macy's and stand all day. It cause get tired easy.

My husband's mom found it out she got an arthritis on her knee recent. I noticed that her walk and hurt her knee so often. She went to see doctor and gave her an insulin fluid in her joint bones. Her doctor recommended her to do exercise. She suppose not live the lake because of long stairs cause hurt her knee. She is using a cane for walk on downstairs and upstairs back and fourth. She is going to look for a new home at Condo. She will keep this lakehouse for spring and summer seasons.

The most older people live in warm climate because of arthritis and RA. My mom is plan move to Florida in future. I am not sure about that yet. Arthritis is not funny! It part of disease in bones.

I hope it doesn't happen to you too. It's a chance that you need to get exercise too just like your mom's doctor recommended her to do excerise.

You're right that arthritis is not funny.

Yes, I am serious. I do not make up story. I never never never forget what happen on mother day 2002. Couple day before mother day, I did not know why I got little sore something like stiff. I did work out with tennis ball but still not comfortable. On mother day, I got worst pain.

Monday, my mom took me to doctor, blood work, xray, etc. Few days later, they found out that I have RA

about 1.5 million women got RA. Compare to about 3 or 4 hundred thousands male got RA. I guess very small number of deaf male got RA.
 
I've heard of RA only because my arts and crafts teacher had it bad. It looks pretty painful to have it.

Speaking for myself, I have mild arthritis in my left wrist. Tonight there's some pain in my wrist but nothing serious or anything to be concerned about.

Oh really...geez man, again sorry about what happened to you. Are you able to do anything or just limit at what you do? (that you have RA).

hmm, apparently women more than men for RA. men more than women for gout. but I may be wrong. You never know that there might be other deaf male who got RA.
 
Right now, I am fine. Just sore in every morning when I got out from bed. Also, my pinky fingers still sore for everyday. Just ignore pain. I never say I can't do.

No limited anything like left heavy, lawn mower, etc... Sometime, pop up pain for short time then gone.
Just one thing not comfortable my neck... when, I drive my car. Off from highway into ramp. They have tall grass. Avoid to blind spot. Hard time to look back left side before enter the road (exit from ramp).
 
Ouch. I am sorry about you have RA. Where do you live in now? My mom have a sore on her neck when she get out of bed.

Yeah. You had been play in sports and travel a lot. Are you going to have a surgery for RA or not?? I know the replacement joint is expensive.

not require to have surgery. Doctor did not say anything about surgery. I hope not get crook feet, hand and all other joints.
Right now, my body look like normal. Most people did not know that I have RA since after Mother Day 2002.
 
Two weeks ago, we had my wife's company party. They have WII video game. We played bowling game on Wii. I felt not comfortable with my shoulder from Wii's bowling game. The person called me cried baby. She does not know I have RA.
 
people who suffer fom gout are very predisposed to developing uric acid crystaline in joints (finger knuckle, wrist, toes, and ankle are most common for these occurances) Allopurinol 300 mg is recommend for most people, but Colchicine is often given and is very effective. Allopurinol is more common prescribed because higher risk for adverse reaction to colchicine. Like already mentioned purines in foods should be avoided by those who have history of gout or gouty arthritis. Renal function tests should be performed with those taking these meds for gout. From experience of having many patients suffer from gout, I'd have to say it is one of most painful things to deal from. Im sure most of this data is repeated, but if any other questions or seeking other details you may PM me.
