I've noticed lately that some members have been changing threads into places for them to have conversations or their own fun.

This needs to stop. The more you do it, the more threads that end up getting locked. This is also considered a major off-topic violation.

Some are harmless humor that's usually related to the topic, but they lead way off topic. Please, respect the thread.

If you want to have fun with another member in public, do it in Visitor Messages. Don't do it in other people's threads.

Thanks.

I appreciate the standard.

On the flip side, the evolution of a debate/conversation is a delight to those who observe.

Yes I am agree with you!!!!

Thanks for post :thumb:

NO I'M NOT WITH YOU! YOU DOMESTIC DISSENT! :mad2:

If the moderators want it to stop, create a chat room on the site. Many forums have a chat room of their own, of course it has to be a member to use the chat room as well as member of the forum.

I dont really agree with vampy. I voice my own opinion. In real world, we chat and it leads to off itopic conversations.

I think it will be pretty boring if we are not allowed to make jokes and asides, and must grimly stick to the topic.

In real life a conversation, meanders all over.

Only in a classroom do you hammer away completely at one topic or subject.

We are not alldeaf students, but a community.

Try telling your neighbors they have to behave as you want and you probably won't get a happy reception.

Their more likely response?

Killjoy!:nana:

A chat room feature within AllDeaf is a viable solution . . . and overdue, methinks.

Would the threads turn boring then?

How is humor that is related to the topic off topic? Sometimes having humor in the thread is welcomed especially if the topic is a doozy.

I don't think Vampy would comment on this trend if it hadn't been "out of hand" as it seemed to be, as of late. Some threads have, clearly, been hijacked by real-time conversations between limited parties (2 or 3 members).

I agree that it should be kept to a minimum if at all. Two pages of a conversation? Definitely overkill.

I am with you on that one.

I can undy if the topic went wwwwwaaayyyy off topic thru several posts in a row but a few off topic posts is not bad, in my opinion. Also, they create rapport between AD members.

U are the mod, Vampy. I am afraid to post now!

Yeah I am with you .. This website need set up with Chat room :dunno2:

:D

I'm surprised some of you agreed with me, which I didn't think it would happen. :P

Ugh, more BS rules, Vampy?

This AD is nothing like the ADv1 that we old timers used to know.

*shakes head* What new rules are you gonna put up? "No chatting with your mouth full" ?

Geesh, take a chill pill. Surely by going off-topic, even that alone can spice up the threads.
