Anybody in here have experience with adopt kids? If yes, then how many kids and where from?

Thinking about to adopt kids?

For me;
I want to adopt FIVE Deaf Kids from other countries. It's very interesting to have that experience. I would like to adopt them from Japan, China, Australia, Mexico and Korea.
 
I would love to adopt a deaf child myself. I am interested to see anyone who has experienced it post in here.
 
Awesome, I hope theres someone who have that experience that way can share with us. Seems like no one? Eh?
 
When my hubby and I first met, we talked about adopting deaf kid also. I dunno if we will. Wait and see...adopting kid is expensive and I dunno how long the process takes though.
 
I knew a deaf guy who was adopted when he was a baby. His deaf parents were also adopted when they were kids. Weird.
 
I know of a family (parents are hearing but proficient in ASL and dedicated to deaf education) that has adopted 5 children (all 5 children are deaf) from Philippines, Chile, Japan, China and Tobago. I remember when I first met the family years ago the children, they had no knowledge of English, ASL or any basic concept of colors, grammar structures, etc. Within few years, the children picked up very quickly and their self esteem boosted more than double. One of the girl who is from Chile ended up being a chatter box and that drove the parents nuts! LOL! (Although it's a good thing as well).
 
Few years ago, My husband and I talked about adopting deaf kid. But We've had changed our mind and we have a reason not to adopt deaf kid.

I personally have not adopted, but I have 2 aunts/uncles that adopted children, and 3 cousins who adopted children. It was a wonderful experience for them, and the adopted kids have always been accepted as members of our family just as if they were born into it.

I've considered that many times over the years, too, shel. The problem was that in past years, as a single parent, one was all I could handle financially and energy wise!:giggle: Now I have reached the age where I don't think I'd be able to keep up with a young child the way they need.
 
I would like to adopt many children from poor countries if I am well-off... I have 2 boys which is good enough.
 
I do.. but too much with paperworks... they don't accept me because i am single mom! :( Must have married couple and paid 45 thousand dollars :eek: so Me forget it! :D

Sell babies is an illegal here in Germany.








 
My good friend adopted two deaf children from China - first one was a 4 year old son two years ago and returned to China last month to get a 5 year old daughter. My friend and her husband are deaf - they said that it is VERY expensive. They had to take out another mortagage on their house and borrowed money from families to make it all possible.

I would love to adopt a deaf foreign boy but I know I cannot afford it! :shock:

:hmm: Arent there any deaf American babies/toddlers waiting to be adopted? How can we find out about that?
 
Sell the babies is an illegal here in Germany.

If you want to adopt a baby/child then apply thru Youth Welfare Department. They need to check your background, work, house, married, etc. before they allow to give a baby/child to you as adopt or foster.

If you want to foster a child then they pay you EUR 500 per month until foster child is 18 years old or until a child's mother is fit for want to have her child back... Youth Welfare have to check mother before she can have her child back from foster parents.

If you want to adopt a child then need mother's signtuare for give her child up...

No $$$...


Bad news for disability people - Youth Welfare Department want to trust baby/child to "healthy" parents, not disablity parents... :(

That sucks - my friend and her husband had a situation with Chinese authorities because the husband has mild CP. The Chinese authorities were afraid that he was too "disabled" to adopt a child :roll: Fortunately they fought back hard with more paperwork and character referernces that the Chinese authorities relented and allowed them.

They said that while they are grateful that they got their children adopted, they will not recommend this for anyone because you have to have a lot of money, resources, PATIENCE and flexibility to make it work!
