my really weird sidekick 2

Whenever I get on the aim on my sidekick II, after awhile my sidekick would start to vibrate, showing the offline peoples that were offline making it show like they signed on and signed off. But they're offline and its really weird. My dad thinks its because of the sunspots on the sun or the service or something. And its starting to make me mad about my aim on my sidekick. I had this sidekick II for maybe 3 or 4 years now. I want to get a new sidekick but i don't want to bug my grandparents for a new one. I used the same SIM memory card from my sidekick I to my sidekick II, i still have the sidekick II memory card that i haven't used. I was thinking about a blackberry but i don't know if it's a tmobile blackberry. Anybody know how to solve this weird aim problem on my sidekick??? :ty:
 
Chuck the Sidekick 2 out of the window, girl. And get a nice blackberry. I am sure there is black berries available to Tmobile, all you can just go and talk to your grandparents and let them know that your SK2 is having problems and it is time for another upgrade but you will be keen to stick with the same number. Tmobile can do that for you, pronto. :cool2:
 
It happens sometimes when your Sidekick goes out of range while your AIM is signed on.

While it's out of range, everyone who signed on and off will be "backed up". As soon as you get back in range, you'll suddenly see a bunch of people sign on and off. That's because all the signing on and off is catching up with today. It has happened to me several times. ;)
 
Vampy, it sucks really.... how do you manage well with your sidekick, do you still have the sidekick 3, yes?

hmm..out of range?? I never heard of a sidekick do that before. Usually i think it was just a error. Also with my sidekick everytime i use the internet, it keeps saying there isn't enough memory something..I deleted most of my bookmarks that i keep on my sidekick internet and deleted my texts msgs that i don't need 2 read again, and most of my addresses and it keeps showing that error. And when i get a text and i already read it, it said i got a new text which i looked and i didn't get a new one. my sidekick is really weird...
 
I get random text messages, which arrives to my SK3 (Yes, I do have one - It's dead atm :doh:) and it arrives like, two or three days after the recipient has sent to me :eek3: I know, it sucks sometimes, but I hardly used the SK3 since it was broken about 5 months ago.

oh sheesh u broke it like 5 months ago?? I NEVER break my sidekick. If i did my parents will kick my ass and ground me for a good 2 weeks. It has been dropped a couple of times but it was never broken. I want to get a blackberry because some of my deaf friends uses it and they say its so much better than the sidekick. Because it gets good singal service too.. the SK2 singal service works pretty good most of the time.

Yes, I do.

I had a Sidekick II for 2 and a half years. It was still working fine except for the keyboard that was coming off. That's the only reason I upgraded to Sidekick 3. My Sidekick 3 still works fine and I'll probably have that for a while. :)

Did you do a full reboot? (Hold the power button and press the reset button under the display at the same time.)

No, I didn't break it, it was a mystery problem, I had no Sk3 for 3 months! Unless they finally gave up and gave me a total replacement, and still have it at home, but the battery has died again, haven't charged it again, will have to charge it tonight since I needed it for my vacation next week >.< I hardly used it since I got the replacement --- I know, waste of money! I have two cellphones :roll:
 
Hi there,

Sidekick cellphones when you're in the "deadspot" as tunnels and undergrounds didn't have short antennas (wireless antennas on ceilings) till you get out of deadspot area and you will get back online..

I ride on the city train line to mall of america, my sidekick cellphone went offline when I am at the airport's underground train station till exited the tunnel, it's back online..

Lol, i have 2 cellphones too. I use my SK2 with my deaf friends while texting and i use it for aim and internet and email when i'm on vacations. I'm hooked to my SK2, but I rarely use it now lol. And i use my cellphone to talk to my hearing friends. But my parents turned off the texting on my cellphone because it was expensive on our phone bill/phone plan. But i don't use the phone on the SK2. :giggle:

Text are free in the unlimited plan of SK2, cant you use it?

yah, i'm allowed to use it. I wasn't allowed to use it when i was 11 years old because my family thought it wasn't free and unlimited. Until a deaf friend of mine told me about it and i immeditaly asked my parents if i could use it and my deaf friend explained about it and they finally gave in so i'm allowed. :D

lol, now u tell me :laugh2: I have a audiologist appointment in the morning around 8 or 9 AM to have my hearing aid cleaned out.. and then my dad and my sister and I are going to kings island which is an hr and a half away from my hometown and we're gonna swim at the kings island swim park..lol. i'm gonna try and get a tan while we're at it :cool2:
 
Hey guys! I still have SK2!! I'm ready to throw it out of window once I have $$ to buy BlackBerry!! I can't wait!! It's my 2nd SK2!! First one broke from dropping on hard floor. I got free SK2 from friend who bought SK3 and ditched SK2. Then I accidenty placed SK2 on floor while chatting on VP. I moved the chair and sat down, I felt the chair wobbled. I moved the chair a bit then after VP chat, I checked the floor. OOOHHH no!! :eek2: the SK2 screen cracked. Amazing that 1/2 screen still works!! Luckily, I have broken SK with good screen so I parted screen out and replaced broken screen w/ good one. Still works.

Right now My sk2 is getting funky. My signal kept getting kicked out and asking me to insert SIM card. IT's already in but I had to take out sim card and reinsert it time to time. I decided to blow the slot and reinsert sim card. It seem helped the problem.

Economics sucks!!!!! I wish I won a lottery so I wouldn't be carrying old SK2!!

Hahaha... I just take good care of my technological stuff. I've seen some of my friends treat their Sidekick like a plaything. Cell phones are not playthings. They are advanced communicating devices that require care. I knew one student who treated her Sidekick Color like a keychain. It got to the point where the flipscreen wouldn't stay close. You could see her walking around campus with her keys hooked on her hips... along with a swinging opened-flipscreen Sidekick Color. :roll: I've also seen some students walk around swinging the strap on their Sidekicks as they walk. A few of them have actually broken off... BAM! Oops! What do they do? They blame the strap! (It's like the annoying Wii-strap problem where people swing the Wii-mote out of their hands causing the straps to break.) Straps are only there as a secondary measure. Don't treat it like a swinging toy.

My Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube that still work perfectly. A lot of my friends have gone through more than one of each because they don't take care of them.

You referring to T-Mobile customer service or something?

My friends who had problems with their Sidekicks had them replaced within a week... usually a few days. They mail you a package. You open the package... remove the refurbished Sidekick from the little slot... put your bad Sidekick in the slot... take out the mail-back sticker... close the package... then place the new sticker on top of the old sticker. Now, you mail it back.

Yeah, it's common at RIT. A lot of their buildings are made of bricks and thick walls... especially Building 7. The "deadspots" around campus are in Building 7, rooms closer to the middle of huge buildings, and the tunnels.
