Granny Fanny sues bank for a million

See link above. Ima Hogg is definitly real.

Did not mean to imply that the name Ima Hogg was not real. But the myth that was predicated on her name has been around for eons. She was born pre-1920's.

OK. "Fanny" used to be a popular first name for girls. Some famous women with that first name were Fanny Brice, Fanny Crosby, Fanny Kemble, Fanny Ardant, and Fanny/Fannie Flagg. It was often a nickname for "Frances."

If you notice in the story this "Fanny" is called "Mrs. Batter." That means that "Batter" was not the last name that she was born with (unless the newspaper made a mistake). So we shouldn't blame her parents.
