Charlotte Rioting Is Awful

Yeah I wish the media wouldn't keep showing the videos of the shooting over and over again especially when riots are going on. I feel this is only going to fuel the fire.

Way to be civil these days....gotta thank the media for playing with our minds.

You want them to be silent?

Many blacks have issues with police officers for many years until they are exposed by smartphone's cameras that spread to social networking.

It is necessary to show a truth about corruption in police department and government because issues are ignored for many decades.

Yes it is necessary but there are far better ways to fight it than to riot and destroy property and people's businesses (many of them were owned by blacks as well!). Rioting doesn't really do enough... and by now we all have become desensitized to rioting, violence and war because there's been so much in the last 50 years- do you see marked improvement? There's been some yes but not nearly enough still sadly.

Unfortunately I suspect even WITH all this rioting etc, the issues will still be ignored for years to come.

Plus with the media and current...."journalism" (I use the term loosely)...it is too one-sided...they focus way too heavily on things that will bring in money-- bad stuff..murder, accidents, corruption to the point where it LOOKS like it is 1,000% worse. It's still bad- that I agree with but the media is still cherry picking.

1992 LA riot has changed to make more diversity in LAPD and changed the police officers to deal with situation. It cost a lot of money to city if riot or uprising occurs and if government doesn't respond to resolve the situation so citizens could resort to violence by rioting or uprising.

For me, I don't believe that violence is answer but it is probably very different if you are minority and mistreated by government.

Rioting and uprising usually happen with corrupted government.

There were a lot of rioting during Civil Rights movement era and assassination of MLK.

I believe the media is evil and powerful. We are in the digital era and we all are exposed more than before. Reporters on cable news and local news are getting desperate because we turn to the other news like blogs, foreign websites and websites. We all want reliable news. You don't always trust reporters what they report. They don't understand the true meaning of the journalism. They like to report whatever they see fit. They really don't care about facts. They want action and fantasy.

LA riots was famous because that was just the beginning of the digital era. The beating was caught on camera.

The Asian community is booming in California. The black population seems to be in decline and probably moved out of the city and California. Younger generation Koreans are warmer and friendlier than older generation Koreans with some hard feelings toward black population because of the past. When I moved to Texas, I was so surprised to see so many black expats from CA and they said that CA is too expensive and they can't deal with Latino gangs who took over everything.

What does the asian community booming in CA and the riots that occurred in LA after the acquittal of the LAPD officers in the Rodney King beating have to do with each other? You lost me with the last paragraph.

It is so hard to trust journalism these days or should I say, "yellow" journalism?

1980 riot in Miami used to be worst riot before 1992 LA riot supressed.

I do remember about race relation between blacks and Latino/Asians (especially Koreans) aren't great, also between blacks and Koreans got more tension after 1992 LA riot.

I know a former sports reporter who worked for years on the CBS affiliate in the SF Bay Area. I asked him why he got out of the news business and he told me, he left when they stopped reporting the news and began to sensationalize the news and started reporting what they were being paid to report by advertisers. He said the first three to five minutes was actual news stories and then the rest of the "news" was sponsored or fluff pieces.

Foxrac mentioned he used to live in Los Angeles area a long while ago. I was informing him that Los Angles has been changed so much since he left CA. The reason I said the Asian community is booming is because many Asian immigrants are coming in from India, China and Korea. It has been reported it is much higher than Central American immigrants coming into US now. I have Asian immigrants who wanted to live in LA asked me about tips and LA riots. They're aware of the LA riots history and Soo Ja Du's controversial incident at her store in K-town. Thanks to the social media and internet. They'd rather carry guns because they're concerned about the robbery, and drug war now.

In 80's and 90's, the gang activity was so bad. I think the gang activity seems to be in decline in that K-Town area alone now, which is good. However, the drug war and human trafficking is bad over there. A few weeks ago, I witnessed a Latino driver in sendra smoking a meth glass pipe while I waited for red light to change. The car windows were shut, and the vapors can be seen. Nassssty.

K-town has been trying to clean up for a long while. About north of Wilshire is safe. Robbery and muggings occur pretty much now. Latinos live in K-town now more than Koreans.

Yeah the news is being sensationalize so damn much today ! You can get the news all day now on line so the reporters on TV are trying hard to get your attention to watch their news .

Problem is you can't believe what's online or TV because you aren't getting the whole story.

Update:

I just learned NC Governor signed the law a couple of months ago. It will go in effect on Oct.1. The law blocks public access to police body cam and dash cam video without a court order. Is he for real?

So much for FOIA.

It may take awhile but won't this law be challenged with that being one of the points?
