What is urine therapy?
The basic definition of "urine therapy" is using (your own) urine internally or externally as a way to aid or sustain your heath. Urine therapy, which includes drinking, injecting, massaging with-, and/or bathing in- urine, is an ancient practice that is used today, not only in times of sickness, but also in times of good health for preventive health maintenance. It has been claimed to have proven helpful in a great number of varying illnesses, ranging from a simple cold and a throat-ache, to tuberculosis and asthma, from minor skin problems such as itching to major skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and even skin cancer. But you probably ask, "How can your own urine benefit your health? Besides, isn’t it toxic?"

Urine as a lifesaver:
During the NBC Nightly News on October 16, 1992, Tom Brokaw reported that, "In Egypt, rescue workers found a 37-year old man alive in earthquake rubble. He survived almost 82 hours by drinking his own urine. His wife, daughter and mother would not and they died" (http://www.all-natural.com/urine.html ). We’ve all heard stories of individuals who have either lived or died by being trapped in places without food or water for days. In those stories, the survivors were always the ones that drank their own urine. The ones that died probably could not overcome the misguided thoughts that urine is an unhealthy waste product of the body. But it’s not; urine is simply a substance that the body does not need at the time, and a substance that the body secretes. And sometimes, it’s a lifesaver.

What’s in urine?
Urine, 95% of which is water, 2.5% of which is urea, and 2.5% of which is a mixture of minerals, salts, hormones, and enzymes, is not a toxic waste product. Urine is a blood byproduct and though it contains some body waste, it is non-toxic. In 1975, Dr. A.H. Free, published his book Urinalysis in Clinical Laboratory Practice, in which he presents a few critical nutrients found in urine:

What happens when you consume your own urine?
The small amount of toxins that are found in urine are not abundant enough to be toxic to the body. When you drink your own urine, it does not go directly to the blood stream. First it goes into the digestive system where its ingredients are sorted out. Then, the useful ingredients are recycled while the toxins are rejected. When the level of toxins becomes too high, the toxins stimulate the intestines into flushing themselves out to eliminate any stagnated excrements accumulated in the colon. Although we could probably filter out the toxins before drinking the urine, the toxins are needed because they stimulate a cleansing reaction in the body. Urine, which remember, is a byproduct of our blood, becomes more purified the more it is recycled. Thus, the cleaner the blood is, the cleaner the urine is, and vice-versa. And this is how urine therapy advocates conclude that urine therapy has a cleansing effect on the blood.

A closer look at the details:
The toxins of urine are also necessary to vaccinate and protect the body from future illnesses. The main theory behind urine therapy after all, isn’t that it straight out cures diseases, but instead, it is geared more towards building immunity to diseases, much like vaccinations. The small amounts of possibly toxic substances which can be found in urine largely seem to have a positive effect on the immune system. An important task of the immune system is to rid the human body of diseased or unusable substances that have developed during the course of an illness, and when these substances reach healthy tissue, the blood becomes stronger, the activity of leukocytes (white blood cells) increases, and the patient probably recovers. This phenomenon is known as auto-inoculation or self-vaccination and can be seen as mother nature's method of healing an illness without external intervention. Urine therapy, therefore, can be seen as a form of self-vaccination: certain bodily substances which have been removed from the body, some of which may have been produced as a result of illness, are re-introduced into the body in small amounts. These substances are re-absorbed into the blood through either the intestines or the skin, and the immune system is then given the chance to react appropriately

How to use urine therapy?

How to use urine therapy?

Basic rules:

1. Midstream urine should be used, the exception being in a fast where urine is being passed every ten to fifteen minutes. The first flow should always be midstream.

2. Urine should be sipped like tea and not drunk like water. This will prevent excessive problems in the form of loose stools and other eliminative processes.

3. The first flow of the day is the most important and the best time of the day to drink it is between three and four a.m..

4. Drink at least one liter of water per day.

5. Pungent and salty food as well as excessive protein should be avoided.

6. Urine passed during the night before three a.m. should not be used.

The quantity used is left up to the individual.
Initial adjustment phase:

1. Prepare the mind by making a resolve to at lease attempt the process and examine your reactions, thoughts and feelings.

2. When you feel mentally prepared to attempt the actual practice, collect some fresh urine and start by rubbing your hands with it.

Feel its texture, smell it, and see whether it can actually clean your skin as well as some people claim. After about five minutes wash it off with cold water and feel the skin to see whether the urine has had an effect. Do not use soap after rubbing.

3. The next phase of adjusting the body and mind is to put one drop onto the tongue. Taste and smell play an important part in assessing its nature.

4. Eventually you should build up the quantity you take in until you can drink a full glass of midstream urine and feel neutral in body and mind. Then you will be ready to start more advanced curriculums.

What are the claims by urine therapy advocates?

So what does all of this information mean? According to urine therapy supporters, it means that urine is not only non-toxic, but it is also anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral. Supposedly, a renowned heart specialist of Bombay, India, once issued an appeal through a newspaper to members of the city, inviting them to write to him about their experience of urine therapy and especially about any cases of detrimental effects. The man’s purpose was to demonstrate that drinking urine is harmful to one’s body and ineffective medically. Shortly after, the man received hundreds of letters in response to his appeal; however, not a single letter of those hundreds reported negative effects.

Urine therapy advocates claim that to this day, despite the countless number of experiments performed using urine therapy, not a single case has been recorded finding unfavorable effects. In fact, they say that urine therapy might be a remedy for polio, rabies, and tuberculosis, AIDS, growths and cancers, fatigue, anemia, all sorts of urinary diseases, for weight-loss, colds and flu, candida, diabetes, heart disease, digestive problems, prostate trouble, arthritis, glaucoma, rheumatism, cataract, venereal disease, leukemia, malaria, diphtheria, chickenpox, scarlet fever, rheumatic fever, bronchial asthma, orchitis, bright's disease, jaundice, scurvy, dropsy, burns, rashes, warts, bed-wetting, menstruation trouble, kidney disease, mucus colitis, pyorrhea, gangrene, etc. (http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/1158/URINE.HTM). In fact, the list of diseases for which urine therapy is said to be effective is around 175 known diseases—— an extraordinary amount for any type of medical practice.

Examples of scientific hypotheses involving urine therapy:

—Urine, enzymes and heart diseases:

One of the useful components that urine contains are enzymes. Urine contains many enzymes, one of which is called Urokinase. While doing research on this enzyme, scientist found that Urokinase causes vasodilatation and resembles nitroglycerine in its ability to strengthen the bloodstream from the coronary artery to the cardiac muscle. Today, Urokinase is used in drug form and sold as a miracle blood clot dissolver for unblocking coronary arteries. The existence of enzymes such as Urokinase in urine, might explain why urine therapy is said to be effective against arteriosclerosis, heart attack, pulmonary embolism, etc..

—Urine, urea and liver cancer:

Another important ingredient that urine contains is urea. Scientists estimate that 25% of the urea in an adult finds its way into the intestines, where it is decomposed into ammonia by intestinal bacteria. Some of this ammonia ends up in the liver, where part of it is converted into urea, and another part is converted into glutamine, an extremely useful amino acid. Because of its healing effect on ulcers and wounds in the intestinal canal, glutamine is essential in the maintenance and construction of specialized tissue, such as in the brain, the small intestine and in the growth and activity of the mucous membrane of the intestinal canal. The most important function of glutamine, though, is its ability to strengthen the immune system, and could be an important key in explaining why urine therapy is such a successful method of treatment. Another noteworthy application of urea can be found in the treatment of cancer by Professor Evangelos Danopoulos, who used urea in treating breast cancer, liver cancer, and several other kinds of cancer. Danopoulos noticed that the urea seemed to disrupt the ability of cancer cells to group together and apparently killed the cells by upsetting some of their normal metabolic activities. He experimented with injecting urea mixed with a saline solution in and around skin cancer and as a treatment for breast cancer. He conducted research on drinking urea dissolved in water in order to fight liver cancer, and reported positive results. In 1969, Danopoulos did a study on oral urea treatment in treating liver cancer. He gave 2-2.5 grams of pure synthetic urea to 18 patients with liver cancer, four to six times daily in capsules, syrup, or as powder. Out of those patients, eight had primary carcinoma and ten had tumors with liver metastases. In the primary-cancer group, two patients were alive after 57 and 36 months. In four patients, death seemed to be related to an interruption of urea treatment where they reportedly stopped their treatment after feeling better. And two patients died of apparently detached illnesses. The average survival period with the urea treatment was 26.5 months, five times greater than any previous reports, without or without the urea treatment.

In the metastatic group, the efficiency of urea treatment could not be judged by survival since the tumor tissue outside of the liver was more than likely not affected. While being on the urea treatment, all of the patients had a reduction of their liver enlargement. Six patients were still alive at the end of the study. Two patients who had liver metastases from breast and colon, were healthy at 19 and 13 months, respectively. One patient was in good condition after 17 months, and the other patient, who had a general disseminated disease and a moderate liver enlargement, was in fair condition at 40 months. After his study, Danopoulos concluded that the results justified formal trial of urea in primary liver cancer and also in metastatic cancer, since the results indicated a regression of liver cancer with oral urea treatment (Danopoulos ED. et al., 1974). Professor Danopoulos also began combining urea with creatine hydrate, another component of urine, and in this way, reportedly treated other kinds of cancers successfully.

So what can we conclude? ?

Although few people realize it, pharmaceutical companies have grossed billions of dollars from sales of drugs made from urine constituents. Today, research is happening nonstop in labs attempting to isolate specific elements of urine I order to make new drugs and new discoveries. Pergonal for instance, is a fertility drug that grossed $855 million in sales in 1992 (http://www.biomedx.com/urine/). Elements like Urokinase and urea, which have become gods to the medical and cosmetic world, respectively, have started to make the marketing and medical population view man’s bodily fluids a little differently. Obviously, urine has some valuable components, but does that make urine therapy a valuable alternative medicine?

Not necessarily. One must be critical of the various intriguing claims made by urine therapy advocates on the world wide web. Why? Because very little intense, authentic medical information and research exist. Sure there are many people who have come forward with miraculous stories of having been healed using urine medically and in survival situations. There is the 1990 story of the four Sri Lankan commandos who had drifted in a boat for over a 1000 miles to Thailand after they had been ambushed at sea, and had survived by catching turtles and drinking urine. There is the story of the male cook in the Philippines who survived 14 days under the ruins of a collapsed hotel by drinking his own urine (http://www.all-natural.com/urine.html). There is the story of the 92-year-old grandmother who is cured of gangrene, and the young man who is cured of tuberculosis— but that’s all the advocates have to offer for evidence of the efficacy of urine therapy— stories. Unless this information is being held back to the public for some reason, there is no hardcore scientific and medical evidence. Of course, the efficiency of urine therapy is difficult to study because most people would probably not want to participate in such a study, which leaves the world to continue to wonder, "Just how plausible are those claims?"

One thing that we must learn is that urine is not in fact "useless" and "an offensive waste product." We should lose our foul prejudices about urine— but to go as far as swearing that urine is the Savior of all medicine, is as deranged as saying those (in)famous two words…… "Got urine?"

The urine cure and other curious medical treatments

The urine cure and other curious medical treatments

The Associated Press recently reported a story about a group of St. Joseph, Missouri workers who--puzzled as to why their morning coffee had been tasting so foul for the past few weeks--rigged up a secret videocamera to monitor the office coffee nook for possible clues. Sure enough, after viewing the first day's highlights, workers at the Wire Rope of America company discovered the root of the problem--although they may have wished that they hadn't.
The tape clearly showed one of their office mates, 41-year-old Milton Ross, urinating into the coffee pot. Ross was immediately fired from the company--it's amazing that he wasn't murdered on the spot--and later charged with assault. The story goes on to say that local health investigators "didn't believe that any communicable diseases could have been contracted by drinking the spiked coffee." Dean Shepherd, Buchanan County Assistant District Attorney, says that Ross was "trying to injure a co-worker when he used the pot as a urinal."

Perhaps. But it's also possible that Ross was merely attempting to improve the general health of the workers at Wire Rope of America with his controversial prescription. In fact, according to certain alternative health guides, Ross was actually following medicinal directives laid down centuries ago.

In his book, The Water of Life: A Treatise on Urine Therapy (State Mutual Books, NY), John W. Armstrong details numerous case histories of people suffering from gangrene, various types of cancer, diabetes, consumption, disease of the heart valves, Bright's Disease, bladder problems, malaria, fevers, wounds, burns, bronchial asthma, and many other afflictions. While their afflictions vary greatly, all of these patients have one thing in common: They were all cured by drinking their own urine. And as Armstrong says in his book, since Urine Therapy for virtually ailment is virtually the same, no diagnosis is required. All one needs to do is to consume a quantity of urine daily to be set on the road to wellville.

Contrary to the medical opinion that urine contains dead tissue and as such, can not be assimilated into the body, Armstrong maintained that urine actually contains "flesh, blood, and vital tissues in a living solution." Deemed unfit for the British Army during World War I due to consumption, Armstrong consulted a number of doctors in an attempt to strengthen his weakened physical condition. After years of dead-ends with the British medical establishment, Armstrong set out to affect his own cure.

Feeling week and ill, he recalled the Bible proverb, "Drink waters out of thine own cistern," and began a strict regimen of fasting on his own urine and tap water for a period of 45 days. After breaking the fast, he ate cautiously and continued to drink his urine. The treatment proved to be his deliverance, as he gained weight and saw his energy restored and his skin rejuvenated. He became convinced of the healing properties of urine.

And he's not alone. The history of drinking urine for therapeutic purposes dates back at least to the Holy Roman Empire when great urinal troths were erected in the public squares of each city-state for residents to both contribute to, and benefit from. For centuries European Gypsies have known about the curative properties of pee, using cow urine to cure Bright's Disease (several acute and chronic diseases of the kidneys which produce albumin in urine). It has also been reported that the Yogis and Lamas of Tibet reach extended ages by drinking their own urine.

Through the ages there have been literally thousands of champions of this curious practice: In the early 1800s, a book titled One Thousand Notable Things describes the use of urine to cure scurvy, relieve skin itching, cleanse wounds, and many other treatments. An 18th century French dentist praised urine as a valuable mouthwash. In England during the 1860-70s, the drinking of one's own urine was a common cure for jaundice. In more modern times, the Alaskan Eskimos have used urine as an antiseptic to treat wounds.

Some Modern Cases

Here in New York City, alternative health guru Gary Null has devoted several segments of his popular radio program on WBAI (99.5 FM, 12 noon, Monday through Friday) to extolling the benefits of the urine cure. One's urine, Null explained during a program broadcast in October, 1992, should be stored in a jug in the refrigerator and then consumed while mixed with orange juice to mask the taste. He went on to say that the first few days of urine therapy often made patients extremely ill, but added that they recovered once the body adjusted to the treatment. Null then interviewed a number of patients who verified the healing powers of urine therapy, including one woman who began drinking her urine after being diagnosed for ovarian cancer. After a few weeks of the urine cure, the woman says she passed a stone "the size of a lemon" while urinating one morning and her health has improved greatly ever since.
According to Dr. Beatrice Bartnett in her pamphlet, Urine-Therapy: It May Save Your Life, morning urine is the richest and best urine to drink. This is partially due to the greater level of hormonal secretion that takes place in the late night hours when the body is totally relaxed and repairing itself. She offers some further advice for the novice uring drinker: "Saying 'thank you' to your body just before drinking urine will help you to realize the value of this golden liquid. Your body produced it for you. Celebrate life and put the urine into a beautiful wine glass. After all, it is the most valuable water on earth."

While many people are aware that Gandhi drank his urine, few know that leather-clad rocker Jim Morrison (who, like Gandhi, had an unwatchable movie made of his life) began the practice of drinking his urine while on an LSD-induced spiritual quest in the Mojave Desert. And like Gandhi, Morrison is now dead. As is John Lennon, another reputed fan of urine therapy. In fact, an entire legion of herion-addicted, long-haired rock and rollers are said to have tried Urine Therapy in the early 1970s following Keith Richards (unsuccessful) experimentations with the cure. One of the more famous modern day cases involves movie star Steve McQueen, who, it is said, in the last stages of cancer, survived solely on a diet of urine and boiled alligator skin prescribed by his Mexican doctors.

Worse Alternatives
While the thought of drinking piss is surely repulsive enough to have made many people stop reading this article long ago, those that have made it this far should take comfort in the fact that things could actually be far worse.
The standard authority for drugs in Europe until the end of the eighteenth century was Lamery's Dictionnaire Universelle des Drogues. One of the late editions, published in 1759, contains a list of remedies under "Homo." It explains: "All parts of man, his excrescences and excrements, contain oil and the sals volatile, combined with phlegm and earth..." The book recommends the drinking of two or three glasses of urine each morning to cure gout, to relieve obstructions of the bowels, and to dispel hysterical vapors. It also includes the following cures: Burning hair to counteract vapors; the saliva of a fasting young man to cure bites of reptiles and mad dogs; ear wax, well chewed, for the cure of whitlows [whatever that is]; powdered toe- and finger--nail pairings, taken with wine, as a good emetic; woman's milk for inflamed eyes.

Worse yet, it prescribes human dung, eaten after it's dried out, as a cure for epilepsy, adding that it can also be eaten fresh as a cure for quinsies or anthrax. While today there are many Freudian explanations as to why humans are attracted to the consumption of feces (consider the alleged case of actor Jack Klugman, for illustration), for centuries it was a common prescription for a variety of ailments. Dried white dog turds were stocked by the druggists of the 1600s, pigeon droppings were used to "draw the humors out," and pleurisy was cured by a drink made with stallion manure.

We will draw this analysis to a close with a description of our favorite arcane medical treatment--oil of puppies! This concoction involved cutting up and boiling two newly born puppies with earthworms, in oil. The result was used to treat paralysis and was also used as a common nerve tonic--it was said to have had a calming effect on all those who drank it.

Perhaps the workers of Wire Rope of America would have been less upset if Milton Ross had been secretly spiking their morning coffee with oil of puppies, rather than his urine.

Recycling Fever Reaches New Lows

"Utica, Michigan - Realising it is flushing potential profits down the drain, an enterprising young company has come up with a way to trap medically powerful proteins from urine. Enzymes of America has designed a special filter that collects important urine proteins, and these filters have been installed in all of the men's urinals in the 10,000 portable outhouses owned by the Porta-John company, a subsidiary of Enzymes of America.
"Urine is known to contain minute amounts of proteins made by the body, including medically important ones such as growth hormone and insulin. There is a $500-million-a-year market for these kinds of urine ingredients.

"This summer, Enzymes of America plans to market its first major urine product called urokinase, an enzyme that dissolves blood clots and is used to treat victims of heart attacks. The company has contracts to supply the urine enzyme to Sandoz, Merrell Dow and other major pharmaceutical companies. Ironically, this enterprise evolved from Porta-John's attempt to get rid of urine proteins-a major source of odour in portable toilets.

"When the president of Porta-John began consulting with scientists about a urine filtration system, one told him he was sitting on a gold mine.

"The idea of recycling urine is not new, however. 'We thought about this,' says Ian Whitcome of Amgen, a Los Angeles biotechnology firm, 'but realised we'd need thousands and thousands of litres of urine.'

"Porta-John and Enzymes of America solved that problem. The 14 million gallons flowing annually into Porta-John's privies contain about four-and-a-half pounds of urokinase alone. That's enough to unclog 260,000 coronary arteries." (Hippocrates magazine, May/June 1988)

Healing yourself with urine

Healing yourself with urine

Hippocrates (460-377 B.C.), namesake of the Hippocratic oath, was the first in the Western world to record and teach the practice of uropoty (the drinking of urine). The theory of urine therapy states: In the excreted urine all the body's experiences -- physical and psychological -- are collected. Reintroducing the urine to the body forces the body's immune system to confront the same experiences a second time, which gives it a second incentive to deal with the problem.

Urine functions as a nosode, a small impulse of disease that, when introduced to the body, triggers the healing powers of the immune system. From homeopathy the principle of "healing like with like" is well-known. Today's vaccinations work on the same principle: A small impulse of an illness is introduced to the body to trigger its massive defense mechanism. In the case of immunizations one can obtain protection lasting for decades; when using urine therapy a refreshment is recommended after one year, or sometimes after just half a year.

The Death of Prejudice
Fear about urine is conditioned and irrational. The following prejudices must be overcome:

1. Urine is full of germs.

In the first fifteen minutes after leaving the body, urine is absolutely sterile for the producer's own body. Only after this period do the germs begin their work. However, they are not dangerous at all, and can even be beneficial for external applications.

2. Urine smells.

After a while the uric acid in urine changes into ammonia, and only then does the urine start to smell. However, the smell will evaporate completely if the urine gets absorbed into the skin, or if, for example, it is used in the household on window glass and is thoroughly wiped off afterward.

3. Urine is a waste product.

How can it make sense to reintroduce into the body a fluid that it just has expended considerable effort to eliminate? A short and simple explanation: Urine comprises the sum of all the experiences that the body has had (much as our individual personalities comprise the sum of our experience). Records of disturbances, infections, diseases, and allergies are stored within our urine. If we confront our immune system with this information for a second time, we stimulate the construction of a (finally) effective defense. Urine therefore teaches the immune system a lesson.

4. Urine develops an unpleasant odor on the skin.

This is not true. It is, however, necessary for the fluid to be completely absorbed. If, for example, you make compresses, I recommend an animal fiber like wool rather than cotton, since the urine will not develop an odor in animal fibers while it will smell in cotton (as we know from cotton diapers). Urine should certainly not be used with synthetic fibers.

5. Urine contains viruses and bacteria.

Our own urine doesn't contain any viruses or bacteria that really could harm us because those have already been filtered out by the liver. And the remaining ones are exactly the ones that the body should fight with the help of urine therapy.

6. Urine tastes bad.

Healthy urine, especially the first evacuation in the morning, always tastes salty and bitter. This taste, however, will not be conducted through the capillaries of the tongue, but solely through the nose. If you pinch your nose while drinking, you will not taste anything.

7. Urine is responsible for diaper rash.

This is absolute nonsense, on which the diaper industry gets rich. Urine does not harm a baby's buttocks. A sore bottom is caused solely by the infant's diet or by the diet of the nursing mother. :squint:

THE DRINKING OF YOUR OWN URINE

"Me? Drink Urine? Never!" Many patients have exclaimed these words when their therapist has suggested this form of treatment. However, the fact remains, everybody has done it before, namely in the mother's womb. The embryo has its own metabolism from the very beginning, which is connected to the mother's circulatory system. The baby gets rid of its urine just as any other human does. Therefore it also swallows its own urine constantly through the amniotic fluid. The history of humankind proves that it has not harmed anybody so far. Also, medicine has known for three thousand years that urine can be very beneficial to the small being. The Ebers Papyrus -- an Egyptian book on medicine written about 1000 B.C., with a total of fifty-five recipes for urine therapy -- proves this fact.

STILL SKEPTICAL? Do the test!
Now it's time to take a risk and start. Forget all the thoughts that you have connected with urine since the beginning of your life. The next time you have to go to the bathroom, hold your index finger in the stream of urine. Let the liquid drip off a little and smell it. Don't be afraid: I promise you, you won't smell a thing!

Now, can you gather up even a little more courage? Then rub some of the urine on the back of your hand and wait as long as you can before you wash your hands again. You will discover that no odor will develop on your skin either. The moistened area, however, will feel softer and smoother.

Are you even more courageous? Then touch your urine-covered finger with your tongue -- just very quickly. Does it taste salty? That's normal. The morning urine is especially bitter. The more fluid you take in during the day, the more "mild" the taste of urine.

FOR THE REAL SKEPTICS
The most important prerequisite for urine therapy is this: The only people eligible for the internal use of the self-urine therapy are the ones whose bladder, kidneys, and genitals are absolutely healthy. In case of a bladder infection, a sexually transmitted disease, or the intake of certain medications (cortisone, strong pain relievers, psychopharmaceuticals, antibiotics, insulin), urine should only be used externally. Talk with your physician to see if such medications could be reduced or discontinued in favor of urine therapy.

THE FIRST STEP
Do you have by any chance a small injury anywhere on your body, a rash, a blister, or something similar? While urinating, rub some fresh urine on it several times a day. Within a short time this spot will heal. Maybe this experience will help you gain some trust in your own juice.

THE SECOND STEP
Now that you have gotten over your initial disgust, can you expect even more from yourself?

Take a very clean glass. In the morning, right after getting up, try to urinate in three steps. That may sound somewhat silly, but it is meant quite seriously. The first urine to pass through the urethra cleans the passageway thoroughly. You should not collect these expelled substances. Pause briefly, position the glass, and let the urine pour in. When the glass is full, pause again. Set the glass aside and empty your bladder completely. This remaining urine does not contain many useful substances, and therefore you needn't collect it. It only would increase the amount of fluid you drink. What you have collected is the so-called morning midstream urine. This is the purest and richest urine of the day.

THE THIRD STEP
All right then. The urine is collected and you have fifteen minutes remaining to do something with it. Therefore, there is no need to rush. Why don't you get your favorite drink from the kitchen? No alcohol in the morning, of course, but if you expect the worst scenario (to vomit), maybe a very small and strongly spiced stomach bitter would not be inappropriate (no more than a thimbleful).

You should not push yourself now. Although you have a whole glass in front of you, a single sip that you don't spit out immediately is worth more than the entire glass that will soon end up in the toilet. Put down the glass and immediately swallow your favorite drink. Then, take a deep breath. You've done it! There, was that so terrible? I don't think so.

THE FOURTH STEP
It is obvious: You have to work on increasing your daily dose until you are able to empty the whole glass. But please, don't "sweeten" your urine with a small sip of alcohol every morning. Otherwise, you are in danger of developing secondary damages, sooner or later, like dependency.

IF YOU FAIL THE FIRST TIME
You succeeded with collecting the midstream urine, but could not go on afterward. It would be good if you could make yourself do at least the finger test, to show yourself again that urine is not disgusting. Afterward, pour the contents of the glass into the toilet. You can simply make a new attempt the next morning, and don't call yourself a "coward". Rather, be proud of how many inhibitions you have overcome already.

MAKE IT A HABIT
When you reach the point where you drink your urine every morning, you are faced with an alternative:

You can do a two-week to three-month treatment course to treat a certain illness, determined by a holistic physician or by a naturopath. Or you can fight allergies or a similar chronic ailment with a continuous urine therapy (daily). In this way you provide your immune system with permanent support and achieve a lasting improvement in your general well being. If you are afraid that those around you cannot understand why you drink urine, it is better to be silent about it for now. If, however, your present complaints improve or even disappear during the treatment -- and I am convinced they will -- you would do our common cause a favor by talking about it. Relating your personal experiences by word of mouth would be more convincing than any book.

This was confirmed for me through the story of one of my readers:

Dale E, 54, secretary: "For years my sun allergy had ruined my vacations. My family relaxed in the sun but I had to sit in the shade under two sun umbrellas. Nevertheless, just by going swimming I broke out in fluid-filled, itching blisters. None of the sunscreen lotions helped. At a friend's I found a book on urine therapy and read that the drinking of urine would help such skin conditions. I pushed the thought aside, though, because it felt uncomfortable. During my next vacation my beach neighbor told me that her sun allergy had vanished since she started urine therapy. I started with it and today I can sit with my family next to the water."
