The MSM....

ah... one of the MSM would be Fox News, yes?

If you don't know about Journolist, you should. It's a semi-secret listserv maintained by Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein. Don't bother to try to log on. If they want you, they'll ask you to take part. No outsiders need apply.

And who uses it? Almost exclusively liberal journalists and left-leaning movers and shakers. Sound innocuous? It isn't.

Journolist has become a forum for lefty journalists to talk about how to push their progressive agenda on America, protect President Obama and hurt his foes. It is a safe-space for the often-vile expression of hatred toward conservatives and their ideas.

It all came to light a few weeks ago when news broke that then-Washington Post writer David Weigel, hired to cover the conservative movement for the Post, had made disparaging comments about those he covered on Journolist.

Weigel's remarks were bad enough. But in the ensuing weeks, other comments emerged that made it clear his comments weren't atypical. Not only do the liberal journalists despise conservatives and their non-progressive vision for America, but they actively colluded — one might say plotted — to undercut them.

This isn't journalism. It's political activism.

What's disappointing is not just the lie that journalists put forth about being "objective." That's long since been proved false by survey after survey showing that members of the media are not only overwhelmingly Democratic in their political orientation but also far to the left of average Americans on virtually every major social and economic issue, from tax cuts to abortion.

Better?

Instead of using unlabeled pictures, Banjo, to undercut this thread how about contributing something meaningful on the subject of this thread? You know, the MSM thing? If you cannot, I understand.

Oh dear. Look like Jiro was right.

if you cannot answer my simple question which I've been asking for months, I understand. I asked exactly who are the MSM (meaning - give me the names).

simple. very simple. but hey - I understand if you cannot answer my simple question with simple answer. meanwhile - have a good day at Vegas. I believe you are supposed to be in Vegas today but if you are, don't be wasting your time in :type:

Still cannot understand the meaning of "MSM" when used?

I see.

Keep reading that article again.

Ah, yes. It's an editorial. That's probably true for most MSM "articles" nowadays.

Is Fox News, the most viewed news source in cable TV, a member of MSM? Or is MSM "the enemy" of Right Wing?

Funny; I feel that way about ALL news groups. I try not to let bias enter the picture.

The vast majority can be classified as editorial. The problem is when people take that editorial, and attempt to use it as proof and support. It happens in these threads all the time. All an editorial is supporting is that an opinion has been expressed. All an article can support is some facts as interpreted by the writer. Shame that people put so much stock in it.

Rather it's that Foxnews is seen as the new "Alternative Media," loosely speaking. They were never the MSM but the big three networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) who were the mainstream news network for so many decades of old school journalism that they held power to.

What a wonderful backpedaling job. Too bad it is completely ineffective.:laugh2:

"Alternative?"

Geesh... don't you have alternative newspaper in your area? It's always the very liberal rag.

FOX is NOT alterative. It's news with a touch of tabloids. Same with Huffpo.

CNN is a lot more neutral.

Some of my friends assert that CNN means Contains No News. :P

Alternative Media? Got it. Are you grouping all the other "non-alternative media" news agencies with the Big Three?

It would appear that the term MSM means it is the enemy of the Right Wing. I have never heard it until seeing it here. Perhaps that is because I rarely watch FoxesNews. Must be one of their catch phrases. MSM = Mindlessly Spending our Money? Manipulating Society's Minds? :hmm:
