Just a poll to see how many Deafies consider themselves man or woman enough to drive a stick shift car or just plain wimp-out and drive automatics.

Myself, I'm a stick shift man :D
 
All of my vehicles are manual.


I have never bought any automatic.


Real man drives manually. :cool:
 
I drove a stick for years. I was even a truck driver for awhile and still have my CDL. Now all i want is an automatic, it helps when i'm trying to sign to my daughter in the backseat
 
I drive with a stick...

I have a neon stick shift knob. It's funny and cool!

You can customize this knobs or anything you like. I installed in racing clutches in volkswagens or motorcycles. It's the reason why I like manual trannies.
 
Yes I used to have Vw jetta and it has a short shift. It s pretty fun. Poor thing it's gone

Oh yea that was a year ago. So now im having other car. It has a better condition.
 
My van is an automatic...my neon is a standard.

I like any girl that wants to drive my stick :naughty:
 
i used to drive a stick...but id rather drive an automatic... once you know how to use a stick you can drive just about anything..
 
I can drive standard. I've driving my mom's Camaro and it's standard. I like zooming away with that car!
 
I like standard cause you can control this baby better!

Of course, the car I use is automatic :(
 
I can't use shirft standard due to my CP. it is not allow to use Shirft standard for disbility for safety reason. I like Automatic more easier for me.

drive just about anything? how about a motorcycle? I do, does anybody know how to use motorcyle shift? but I know what u mean with shift the concept you can drive "almost anything"
 
My first car was 1992 Saturn sedan automatic, it was okay but suck... then my 2nd car was 1993 Saturn wagon manual shifting, I love that car, very fast zoom and I once raced against Mitsubishi Eclipse, but that car beat me nearly by few seconds, person ought to know how to shift quickly and know the car well...
 
Manual = sports cars, ricers, super cars, exotic cars, etc.

Automatic = SUVs, Luxury cars, minivans, station wagons.
 
i loved shifting the gears for years and years but now i have my first automatic truck... :( i couldn't shift in heavy traffic in hotlanta daily... too tired of clutching every sec.... my left leg was more big than right leg, but now they r even...

Stick shifts goez ta hell! Drove a Comanache truck with a stick shit back in the 90s and yes I said shit! I was driving on a highway with my ex (that was his truck) I used the clutch and tried to shift, but somehow I pulled the knob off that stupid stick! I panicked and said I ain't driving this shit! My ex was laughing his ass off so hard! Crikey I was *not* a very happy camper that day :lol:

Automatic for life!
 
I love to drive vehicles with sticks. :naughty: Now my vehicle is automatic because I need my free hand to talk to my boys.

My husband has been teaching me how to use motorcycle shift. :ugh: It's kinda hard for me to follow, but he's a good teacher. (No, I don't drive motorcycle, just yet... maybe in the future with my husband. :mrgreen: )

My dad tried to teach me how to drive with stick shift -- fucking impossible for him to teach me while Im doing those shit...you know, Im deaf, my father is hearing and knows little signs so I had to read his lips.... I got to watch him tell me how to do this and that while Im trying to learn how to use stick shift and brake at the same time. Oh :madfawk: that!!

I just HATE stick shift...I know it save your gas but :ugh:

Im driving automatic and rather to stick with automatic...its easier for me and not worry about it unlike stick shift that you have to move up/down all the time :ugh:
