Meth Labs

well - if you can smell a very foul garbage... then you can definitely smell a meth lab. it's a suffocating smell... which is why a cook wears gas mask. but here's a thing... the more foul a meth lab smells... the more dangerous it is and you must run away as fast as you can because it's just waiting to explode.

Illinois Attorney General - Recognizing a Meth Lab from the Outside

Slightly disturbing...

slightly? more like VERY :ugh:

This is OFF-TOPIC. I was going to say NSFW, but for what? Hell with it.

I'm so used to mayhem, my definition would greatly differ from yours.

For example... I own The Story of Ricky movie, a x-rated Hong Kong film (non-porngraphic) as well as Ichi the Killer (a Japanese movie).

In fact, I own some of movies shown in the trailer.

Probably doesn't include mobile meth labs.

A co-worker once told me about how a pickup truck with a camper lid was driving past his house and suddenly caught fire. The driver and passenger fled while the truck was a huge fire in his yard.

He did say that that patch of grass was particularly green for several years afterwards.

Do they go door to door and ask everyone?

Assumption! ==> Meth labs move from rural areas to US cities — RT

No, they aren't going from door to door, so they are policing around area to find suspicious activity or abnormal smell.

It wasn't assumption because making meth is already existing in rural area and I learned from documentaries about concealed meth makers in Montana.

The article that you posted said making meth is moving to become more common in cities now, so it doesn't abandon the opportunities to make meth in rural area.

unfortunately too slow and too late.

that's an assumption

and that's not a case in metropolitan area like LA/NYC. that's why they set up a meth lab in ghetto building or abandoned house. by the time somebody gets suspicious about it.... then they abandon it and move on to set up another meth lab.

I hope any technologies are improving that help law enforcement officers to bust the meth makers in near future and the meth is one of most devastated drug that I had seen.

That's not assumption because it already existed in rural area, as popping in cities are new thing now.

Just warn to them that video is very graphic, so the moderator won't remove or edit your post. :)

to be more specific - he said "an educated guess".

-assumption means you expected something because you took it for granted
-guess means a speculation based on life experience, news, intuition, etc.

ie. you assumed there's no meth lab in your county because your area is nice and lovely. that's an assumption.

ie. TXGolfer made an educated guess that the reported meth labs in map represents only less than 1% based on life experience, intuition, etc.

What is life experience? intuition?

We have local county news about meth lab about more than one year ago, but they weren't in our city, so it happened very few times since I moved in.

I don't believe that TX's claim was educated guess.

What if the person like myself cannot smell? :hmm:

I'm very curious about those question because I haven't smell meth yet.

I had seen weeds, crack and heroin on street. :ugh:

Yeah, I used to know a hearing Jew guy who was a meth addict from California ages ago.

Puck came to NOVA and learned ASL through college class, and attended 'official' deaf club at Starbucks. Apparently, he was on a run from laws in CA.

The psychological damages appear to be obvious... When he was signing, his main symptom seem to have some kind of grammar transiency problem. I felt bad for him, as his behavior caused some uncomfortable presence by friends.

Dunno what happened to him, but pretty sure he's clean for years before coming to NOVA. The mental damages seem to be permanent.

Oh, not surprised, however at first, I learned about how bad from meth, so pretty shocked about psychological damages.

I'm sad if teens are addicted to meth. :(

What was it then? Please explain.

No one said that they no longer make meth in rural areas. But you said that they "prefer" rural areas. That is no longer the case and is an assumption based on outdated thinking.

Saw on the news the other day about Meth Labs and Realtors are not required to report a house for rent to a prospective tenant that is for rent or sale...you have to call the DEA or another agency (slips my mind now)...to find out if the house was in fact, a former Meth House....

One owner of a House for sale, quoted that he had spent over $10,000 to clean up that house before trying to sell it again....and the people that bought it did not know it was a former Meth House....And renters are in the dark also...not really knowing if the House was a Math House, until they get sick or their kids get sick.....

And surely, no matter where you live...in an exclusive area or even a dump...it could be a former Meth House....it's up to you to do ur homework and check it all out before renting or buying until the Laws are somewhat changed and require Realtors to inform prospective tenants and buyers of the fact.

This was in Florida...I don't know about other states or cities....

I missed your post due to crazy debates on my phone, so I'm on computer now.

I think we should have law to inform the homeowners about wherever homes are used to be meth lab, but you have a very good suggestion - all in bold.

I will take those homework as well, but I'm sympathy about families who are unaware or not know about homes were meth labs, or not. It is just like house that infested with brown recluse spiders and didn't inform to new buyers - I know they did sued former owners. I have strong tip - hire the inspector to check before buy it.

I don't know about "no longer" because it will change over the year.

Some information will be obsolete.

I think your claim is assumption, just like mine.

That wasn't fair argument when I was attacked with assumption.

How so, since I am not "taking anything for granted."

You saw the word "probably"......yes?

Meanings of words matter. This wasn't an argument. We were explaining things.

Okay let's calm down here...the reality here is, there is so many unknown meth labs out there that the culprits hide. It could be my next door, I could have 5 meth labs on my street that no one knows of. That's why the maps only shows you the data that is "known" meth labs that the authorities have caught/busted.

The thing is... we will never know the EXACT figure how many meth labs out there... there is thousands of hidden that is unreported or hidden out there.

Yes, if it was under 1%, it looks like we have serious meth epidemic now like crack epidemic in 80's, so that's very sad for our country.
