Highest speed you have achieved in your car/truck?

105 on 2001 Dodge stratus (currently)
110 on '95 Honda Civic
5 on a hotwheels toy (jk)

I can see this threading is old but I have drove at 155 MPH with Infiniti G35 2003. AMAZING feeling! WHOO WHAT A RUSH!

162 MPH on my first car - '65 Mercury station wagon "my boat"! What a rush and never did it again!! LOL

Dang old thread. Glad somebody brought it up for new users to post.

125 Mph on 69 Oldsmobile Ninety- Eight on a quiet interstate in KY.. whoa! a buddy and i drove and he bet that old junkpile of mine cant go that fast and we made bet and he gasped but my wheels and steering wheel was throbblin and shakin then how stupid of me - first timer.. when i was 17... slammed brakes and broke my main brake clyinder, wheel clyinder in rears..

150 Mph on a 1962 Chevy Truck with 396 Cid with 396/454 11 inch 4spd with a couisn of mine on a country road when i was 19.. that truck was so lightweight and feel like that stepside truck flying across the road and the engine was from 67 Chevelle.. it nearly gave me an heart attack ..that couisn made a dare with me thats why i did it.. but glad i did it

137 in '89 mustang 5.0 GT convertible (yeah the top was down, lol) on I-95 between baltimore/DC at 4am... speedometer listed 140, but it lied apparently... then again with the weight of the convertible gear...

110ish (topped out speedometer) in '97 f-150 with the small v-6... on I-70 between frederick and baltimore...

110 mph on Honda Accord in desert area since not many cars are here and other 102 mph on same car on interstate in Chicago but not many cars on certain time during weekday.

200km/hr (125mph) in a '94 Ford Falcon S/wagon about 6 months ago and never again, it went across a long stretchy country road in the middle of the day, my friend witnessed it. :D

I hit 143 on my Triumph Sprint RS motorcycle. 955cc in-line three cylinder engine. I was having fun with a friend riding next to me. I looked down, saw the speed and realized I was going almost 2 1/2 miles per minute. I realized there was no logical reason for going that fast, and have never done it since. I do have to say, there was plenty left in the throttle.

probably 90 mph at the most cuz i am too scared that I will lose control of the car.

The fastest I went was in my old 94 Olds Cutless at 130 mph on I10 around NM AZ area, I believe it was in AZ before Benson exits. I couldn't go any faster cause the governer killed my engine at that speed. I had to put in N and restart my car while going 100+ mph :eek3:

My wife drove 1967 dodge cornet R/T all black paint with chromed baby moon rims with builded 440 and dual plane intake, holley 780 cfm # 3310 carb and hemi grind cam and all forged parts and 10.5 compession and hooker headers with 2 1/2 duals (pretty mild by todays standards). One night she drove 125 mph on street in 25 mph zone blowing through 5 red lights racing against another high schooler punk with his 68 GTO 400 motor and 4 on floor. While blowing through the lights, she was half car length ahead of him but just then when the sixth light was near she had funny gut feeling there was cop parked in the gas station at the sixth light so she slowed down and let the GTO punk have it then the cop busted him... she quickly and quietly made a right turn on the sixth light and she left to get on the hwy that was about 2 o'clock in the morning. The poor guy had his GTO impound and license suspended for a year that was back in 1977. The extra 46 cubes (440 + .030 over) helps. he swore a revenge on her but that was 30 years ago HA HA :giggle: ......... totally WUSSY :giggle: .........she is too old for this stuff now. Guys and gals speed kills and you want die faster get a rolls royce's griffon V-12's.

One time back in 1992, i drove my 1991 Ford Escort GT with auto without govern on it. And i saw 115 mph downhill toward to Sylmar, CA (San Fernado Valley area) where we came from Duarte, CA to visiting our friends that time.... I got some butterflies in my stomach when doing that as i wasn't sure if people on the road made suddenly change the lanes while i sped downhill... DANG them but it was FUN doing that.... lmao!!!!!!!

This thread are all about cars. Let me say something about BIKE! Rode 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa 1300cc Rode more than 200MPH along the straights and had to brake before making left hander at approx 120MPH. Its all perfect legal in Australia, no police hounding, no tickets no liablities. Nothing. Its a TRACKDAY at Eastern Creek Racing Circuit.

the fastest i ve been reach was 171 was on my sister 2003 Z350 nissan
other one was 149 on my 94 saleen mustanf
current gmc canyon 120

112MPH on Goldwing GL1200, only few years of GL1200 can go up to 191MPH, after 88 they have cut off at 150MPH, so can't go over due to computer taking over control.

I wouldn't think about speeding on my Jeep Willy, too dangerous because of its high center of gravity and if I swevering I will definetly roll over, not worth the risk.

Stupidest thing I ever did (I think - did a lot of stupid things) was 105 mph in my 1960 Plymouth Belvedere. Why stupid? Big drum brakes, no brake booster equals zero brakes after 90 mph. This was back about '78.

There I was at that speed on an unfamiliar road and a bend came up fast and I had to slow down for it. Sign said 45 mph. Just threw it around the bend on the wrong side of the road with two wheels in the gravel. No choice without brakes. Came out the other end at 90 mph. Still don't know how I did it. Lucky no one else was coming the other way.

Slowed down a bit after that.........

A number of old friends died doing not quite as stupid stunts, so I guess someone's looking after me

Well, highest speed, I ever had is....85 cause I drive a truck, also, the road is a little bit rough. Not good to drive fast on the rough road (I live in the country, tho.) Don't try. Nearly accident, I had. Other roads, too many cops around. lol

The highest speed I SAFELY (meaning the freeway was not busy, clear day, great conditions, etc)took my recently acquired trike was 90-92 mph and backed off. I just wanted to see how it's engineering panned out; it was great, no shimmering, vibrations, etc. I imagine it's top speed to be maybe 105 mph....diehardbiker can probably vouch for that.

There are 5 pictures in a slide show of our trike at Auto Talk here at AD, page 8 past the middle of the page....post # 123, I think....
