Help me.. *How can I block one site*

You got Firefox by downloading through IE, am I correct? If yes, reverse your way back to IE by deleting / uninstalling Firefox.
That's what I did. I downloaded Firefox to see what it is like.l Had it for a month.. didnt really like it - then i uninstalled it.

IF you already deleted the copy of IE from desktop, try to find IE through 'search' from start menu and that will guide you to the original IE icon. Send to 'desktop' (create shortcut).
Good luck.

GalaxyAngel,

The instructions will not work for FireFox browser.

Let me know if you tried this and if it works for you or not.

One quick solution, but not always works. Go to start menu, then click search then click for files or folder. Then click all files or folder and fill in "dialer.exe" in the dialog box then start the search. Make sure it is search all of drives just to make sure. The chances are, you will find em. DELETE THEM!!! If it is there, you will know where that stupid 900 calls came from. (Generally they goes to porno sites)

Not porno..

you may check www.habbo.com or www.habbohotel.com or www.habbo.ca

I'm done set IE but not working firefox alone... I've emailed to firefox and request info about block one site.. that simple thingy not about pop up..
Pointview banned website.. That one thingy simple!

IE for playing game on line that is it for bigfishgames only... :D

I see now.....wow!! Did not know about this kids site... That is not right what they are doing. That is way too easy for a child to make a purchace.

GalaxyAngel, do you have firewall built-in router? I do have D-Link Dl-624 with Parental Control with URL blocking option inside it. If not, just give yourself thoughts about firewalled router without dump big dollars on security softwares.

Or creating user account for child and set it to limited access and have all broswers removed. Admin need hard password protection so your children wont access or change the settings.

Sorry to heard about what's happens.....

P.S. - if you like to give children the copy of bill, why not have bag of coals come in with it?

How to use payment from home phone

Hello GalaxyAngla,

You can't blame your kids since they are not familiar cool kid website with tricky business. They may have thought that they can play with your phone permission but they are not aware of paying extra charges on your phone bill. I have checked Hobbohotel webstie. It is pretty neat to me but very tricky for your kids. Just like a bad witch trying to give free candies so that they can come into her house. You know how naive your kids are. You are a so simple mother who can easily forgive your wholeheart children. They would love you for protecting them as much as they learnt their lessons.....

I am shocked to hear your story. I think there is one on Firefox that has a block sites, but I don't know if it is part of it. You just look at the Firefox's preference - web features, click exception then type a website address then click to block it.

I am pretty sure that IE has the same problem. Any kids CAN find a way around it unless you have a special software for the kids.

I think that you should stop at a local police station and explain your situation. It is totally unfair that you are forced to pay your telephone bill without your authorization. I am sure that the police takes this issue seriously because it is illegal for any company takes your phone number for a bill. I am sorry that you are facing with the problem. Damn it. Please make sure that you print the website pages and show them to the police. Keep your papers for backup just in case if you want to go to a court. I cannot imagine that your children are brainwashed from that website.

Let's not be so harsh on the kids AD members.. :( Those are kids and they might did not know what they did wrong, It's a mistake. Websites can trick kids in believing everything is free. mld4ds is correct, Website like those can fool kids.

GalaxyAngel, I cannot believe you don't have parent control for your children. That's important step you have to do. I am not trying to be harsh but being helpful as a friend to a friend. What you need to do is set up a Parent control to keep your children out of certain websites that are not suitable for kids. When my son is on line he is currently on parent control, When he looks up a website they will ask him for parent permission, I have to be the one type in my password to give him permission to view a website. Most of the time I do type in my password when I know what that website is about. Most of the time it was just searching for games that he would want for Christmas without ordering.

Then explain to your kids that they are not to go use any website without your knowledge or without your permission. Teach your kids about safely online. There some website that kids cannot trust. I don't trust any of them for my children. I would have to read very carefully before I give my password out to unblock the website for my son.

Cheri, I have parent control which frigg'n WEAK.. I felt wasted my $
and still contuine seeking powerful security not allow use 1 kind of site..
My old computer has only 1 pwd cuz using win2000.

I'm glad I have brand new winxp has User/Admin... My kids cannot access my brand new computer..

Really? Wow! I never had a problem with mine. What type of Parent Control program did you used?

Nanny net *mumbling*

what yours ?

Oh, I have two parental control softwares.

Netintelligence protects- webblocking, instant messager filtering, pornography decection and blocking and internet time controls. (which requires on and off button from Master screen name which would be me.)

I also have aol parent control which I press category for kids only for Markus and General for me. (which requires parent's password)

wow, first of all I'm very very very sorry and can understand how you feel after saw the bill, I had the same feeling as you when I saw bill at 2 years ago. Terri, do you remember my thread "Pray for me" of last May 2005 because you were there in my thread, don't you? I suggest you to read my thread to give you the sense how to reject to pay the bill. Would you still pay that bill? No... I would not do that... Take and have a good look at my thread.

http://www.alldeaf.com/showthread.php?t=17670

See that what I had a bad experience. I would advise you to NOT pay the bill unless you get the proof first to find out where the high bills come from?

Yes, you are correct about Parent control, Cheri but it doesn't help when there're expert hackers around example about dialer.exe. Dialer.exe is tooo powerful. I had a bad experience and have court battle for 2 years for refuse to pay thousands over that... Court last May 2005. (see link of my thread)

diehardbiker65 is correct about dialer.exe

mld4ds and Cheri are correct to not blame the kids because they are not familiar about kid websites but the parents. It's parent's supervision to check what the kind of internet the kids are allow to play.

Yes it's important to explain the kids to not use any websites without parental's knowledge. It's important to teach the kids about safety online etc. My computer goes crazy and re-boot twice. I found out that my children download music and DVD etc. Did I get mad on them? No, it's my own responsible, not them because I let them to do that. I explained my kids why I forbid them to download music and DVD. They understood and respect me. I told them if they want music or DVD then buy at store or have someone to download for them, not my computer. You need to explain your kids to not do that next time without use harsh punishment. Don't blame your kids but websites because it's websites who fool you and your kids. You knew the kids use habbo but you wasn't realize that harbbo website fool you and your kids. It's parent who can trust their judgement on websites before let the kids to play.

Please  your kids and apologise them, then they will love you more and more.

I have password number to open internet. My children didn't know my password number for internet.

I don't have special program for parental control but Norton's internet security is the best. I use Norton's internet security to protect hackers etc and also parental control, too. Norton's internet security is good enough.

Also, not to be mean.. sometimes you have to take away their Christmas money to punish them & teach them a lesson not to take advantage of their parents.

Respectful Disagree - this is a harsh punishment which it will never work because the kids will drive their parent to hell on Xmas Day which it's no good and stress for the parents... The parents want to have happy and spirit christmas with family, not miserable and hell.

Chris also suggests no internet connection to teach the children a lesson so they can go to the library if they want internet.

Yes, I'm agree with Chris. It's positive discipline.

my cousin's son who was like 6 yrs old did use his mom's credit card to shop online without his parent knew... that kid was very intelligent and knew what credit card was ! that was why i need to be aware how the kids do online.

6 years old :jaw: wow... yes, I'm agree that he's very intelligent.. How he learn like this?

if my kid did that i would wrap up the bill in a big box and give it to him for xmas...and let him know that is where all of his gift money went...with maybe one small gift.
it may seam cruel..but i am sure he will get the point.

Disagree because it will never work because the kids will drive their parents nuts and hell on Xmas Day... Every parents expect to enjoy themselves with their family on Xmas Day. No Good... I would do the same what Chris (CookieMonster's boyfriend) suggestion over no internet connection to teach the children a lesson so they can go to the library if they want internet.

Join the club!!!!!!!!!

My daughters use Habbo hotel and love it but know they can't buy anything and always good.

However one time Habbo hotel advertise a competition and the kids enter by ring a number not knowing very expensive phone call each time. It was badly advertise by Habbo, my daughter swearing black and blue it was 25 cents per call but our phone bill showed $3.00 per call lucky she only called I think seven times before I asked her who she was ringing.

When I show her the phone bill she was shattered. She could not beleive they lied to her. She was very upset about and offered to pay. I let her off cause she told the truth and she promise never to do it again.

We were lucky, a cheap lesson in the way these people try to rip you off.

Yes, I do the same with my children. I remember Danny use ******.com for music in his mobile phone. He was shock that the limit card run real fast and has no clue why his limit card run fast than he thought which it's normal for him to use limit card once in every around 5 to 6 weeks, not 1 or 2 weeks. We check with telecom until we found out that he use number from children TV which it cost alot of money... Danny is upset and ask me for support to replace limit card for him... :nono: I explained him why I refused to replace limit card for him because he didn't listen me in first place to not trust number from children TV. I know it's normal for the children to experiement things to ignore their parent's warning until they realized that their parents are right. This is lesson, the children has to learn. It's his mobile phone, not mine... :)

Terri, did you show the bill to your children?
