I can too. My CIs do the same thing around lightning.

In fact, it's raining outside right now as I type this. There is quite a bit of thunder and lightning.

I can hear them both very clearly.

As for Cochlear and FDA approval for a remote, it's no surprise. All CI companies follow the footsteps of each other. It's nothing new.

I'm not interested in a remote, so it makes no difference to me, but I think it's a nice option for those who'd like to have one.
 
I heard the mightest storm few days ago..it was formidable!

as for the remote , I'm slightly interested , but only if it has LCD on it.and anyway , if I had it , my dearest brother would find that excellent material for pranks!I just can imagine him , lol!

I don't think that will be covered by just an software upgrade,it needs embedded feature for remote accepting and pairing.so , I quite agree with Char!
 
Given wireless technology nowadays, it's quite possible that no direct interface would be needed within the Freedom to make it accessible with a remote.
 
You are making us sound like WiFi computers!! LOL...

Umm that depend if there is wireless already built in our freedoms, if there is I would be interested in obtaining a remote also I think they should do one in simple braille (since many DB are CI'ed) as the remote would probably be easier for you to adjust your CI's with your CTS.

Pardon me for asking can you do buttons??
 
No, I can't use buttons anymore now that my CTS is severe. I have a hard enough time turning my Freedom on and off. That's how bad the pain is, but I have an appt with a hand specialist for next week to discuss surgery.
 
I am very sorry for not making it clear, i mean clothes buttons large or small (i am thinking of ways for you to wear CI on your shoulders)

It's okay Charlotte. I have problems with any kind of buttons or controls. The pain in my hands is just too great. I shouldn't even be typing on the computer according to my GP and physical therapist, but I don't know how else to spend my time now that I can't hear with my CIs. I can't even read Braille because I've lost sensitivity in my fingers. I'm beginning to think I might have diabetes for several reasons including the fact that it runs in my family. Then again, perhaps I'm just overreacting because of the way I feel today. I really don't know.

Yesterday I heard hail !!! Talk about a racket !!! I used my nifty remote to turn that sound wwwaayyyy doowwwnnnnn.. lol
 
I had a CI moment yesterday. While counting my change, I accidentally dropped a coin on the living room carpet and heard it drop to the floor. I've never been able to hear that sound before, so it was exciting! :)

I wanted to let you know that I've been able to swap my rechargeables. I use the functional battery during the day and then charge it at night while I sleep instead of keeping it in my right processor. I've found that this allows me to use it all day. I have an appointment with my audi this week, so I will keep both of you updated. I plan to bring my rechargeable batteries and battery charger with me so my audi can check to make sure they are working properly. I think there may be a problem with the charger because one of the lights remains lit continuously, but then starts to flash for no reason even after a battery has been fully charged.
 
Cool thank you for letting us know... Has the coil arrived yet? It would be great if the audi could check your charger out for you to ensure everything is in working order for you. Lets hope it's minimal problem that can be easily solved.

CI moment spent all morning with my lodger painting the shelves for my lounge and we had Laura's music going in the back ground I heard one of the music for word to word and I didn't even know who's the singer!! Laura (my lodger) told me it's Neil Diamond "Don't Go there"... I am going to put that on my Ipod... Laura was OVER the moon and repeated the music for me to make sure i got the song right!!!! we were nearly in tears!

I accidentally deleted my e-mail that contained the date of my next appointment with my audi. I e-maied her again and expect to hear back sometime today. If I remember correctly, it was scheduled for later this week.
 
Fed Ex just arrived! :D

I'll be sure to let you know if the new cable coil works Charlotte.
