    a hearing person started signing to you in signed english instead of ASL? I'm not at all clear if signed english is rude or not. The reason I'm wondering is that I LOVE ASL...it is beautiful. BUT, I don't have any classes near me, nor do I know many d/Deaf people so my options to learn ASL are...

    Hello! My husband and I are foster parents and in our state there is a great need for foster parents that know ASL so they can take in HOH or Deaf children. As of now, I don't know of any FP in our state that knows ASL or even signed english. I know a bit, but I would love to develope my skills...
