Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

So basically you have to sign everything they say and have to keep your opinion to yourself because that's the rules of interpreting?

You know what really confuses me...

ASL makes no sense to me when it's written on paper. Although, when the teacher signs it I understand it fully and know exactly what she's talking about. Is that one thing you guys meant by it's meant for visual?

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

Yeah, I will do that if it starts bugging me too much. Whenever she has time, we're currently working on a video project, signing a song in front of a camera. So yeah, she's been helping us.

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

I know not a lot of hearing people know about Deaf Culture, it's kind of sad, because I think they should know more, because it'd be nice if all of us could get along and understand each other enough not to get too annoyed. Even myself, I have to admit, some hearing people are very arrogant and...

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

You say to talk to the AP? Well if I did that she could get me in trouble if I use just one wrong little tone. That AP is a bitch anyway (sorry for the language) so if she's cold, she wouldn't care anyway..

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

Oh, okay, then I wouldn't have a choice, but after that, I would have gave the AP an evil glare, innocent me..:ugh3:

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

To answer your questions, the teacher had the AP come in here and talk to us about how to respect the teacher. So she had the AP come to the class to talk to us, and of course there was a interpreter in there so the teacher knew what the AP was saying. Then she went on about how my teacher has a...

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

If I were the interpreter I wouldn't have signed that part of what the AP was saying..

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

Yeah. And she was talking about us being rude and talking. Yes, that is rude, but then she goes doing that, talk about a huge contradiction >.>.

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

My friend said that the teacher gave an odd look. Man it pissed me off..if that happens again I'll open my mouth and be like she's not freaking disabled or handicapped..if she really understood the Deaf Culture, she'd know that's the last thing you say about them! I don't know why it bugs me so bad.

No I should have though...but it bugged me! I love my ASL teacher, I think she's cool. I don't look down on her, I think she's intelligent.

Assistant Principal calls my ASL teacher disabled and handicapped..

There was an interpreter there too, so she knew what she was saying. I was so surprised the AP said that. The LAST thing you want to do is call a deaf person disabled or handicapped. It kind of pissed me off when I heard her say that, because it's not a disability or a handicap. That AP looks so...

10 complaints of myspace I typed up

    1. Friend requests, if someone doesn't accept your friend request, don't go messaging them and asking why. It's clear that they do not want to be your friend. Plus, don't send them another friend request, it will just piss them off more. 2. Posting bulletins about picture comments. I don't...

A video I watched in ASL class and what I think.

Thanks for saying I have good insight for my age. I don't think all hearing people respect the deaf culture. ASL is my favorite class, it's a different environment from the rest of my classes. I enjoy it. It can be hard though, but I still think the class is fun, and I think my teacher is nice...

A video I watched in ASL class and what I think.

I don't understand that either. My question is how can you raise a child properly if you can't communicate with them? I would think it'd be hard to give them advice on how to approach things in life. It would be VERY hard to form a relationship with your kids. I don't see how parents wouldn't...

Have you ever been asked "Would you rather be deaf or blind?"

As I said before I would pick deaf. I think it'd be easier to deal with turning deaf than blind. Deaf you could just learn ASL and learn to communicate in a different way. Blind I think would be harder because you couldn't see a thing, you couldn't see the people you love or see beautiful scenery.
