As you can see, that's not what home invasions are about:

Summerville man denied bond in home invasion case - Summerville Journal Scene

There are gators in those ponds. Too bad the gator didn't find him first.

And your point is? If they had a gun this would not of happened? I don't think so. Still would of happened except the victims might now be dead. Someone breaking into a home is ready to hurt or kill you and won't hesitate if provoked. I guess these victims should be wearing a gun in a holster while watching the kids while they are at home at all times. You've let the media and the other survivalist/gun nuts scare you into not thinking clearly. I've known and know many cops and all have told me in most cases give them what they want and don't confront them and in 99% of the situations they will leave once they get what they want.

Because at the time she called, the guy hadn't tried to break in; she just had an uncomfortable feeling. If she had called 911 with just a "feeling" they wouldn't have shown up.

In D.C. police will respond immediately. We have a texting system that is completely anonymous for the police and emergency personnel to respond to. I've used it quite a few times and they show up every single time no matter how small the issue was.

What state did this happen in , if was a high crime rate city the cops may had come. And he was trespassing that is good enough for some cops to come out.

I grew up in north of San Diego, and the crime is so bad. The cops didn't show up on time many times. The problem is there are not enough cops to survey everywhere in the most populated state. It sucks cops had to leave California to live in cheap states.

Before I got married, I was dating a guy years ago. His ex-girlfriend's brother was a victim in Deltona Massacre aka The Xbox Murders. I'm sure you have heard of it. All victims, including a dog were killed with machetes and baseball bats. They were not able to escape at all. I talked to her one time and she talked openly about it. I was at a loss for words.

My point is that "just give them what they want" will not prevent people from being harmed during a home invasion. He beat up the mother without any kind of provocation. She did not confront him.

You need to distinguish between a home invasion and a burglary. Burglary can be part of a home invasion but the actions are very different.

I never mentioned anything about the mother either being armed or not. My whole point was, a home invasion is a violent act, and just handing over your possessions won't stop the invaders from harming you.

I'm not against youth learning gun safety and how to operate a weapon but as a former instructor he should had known better being on the opposite side of her trigger finger. With her being young she should had been further to her rear right so he can control her better. Never instruct on the side the weapon may fly. I always stay on the trigger side even for full grown adults. He was stupid as an instructor and for that he lost his life.

So what exactly is your point then? If they had a gun they could of shot them? Or they could of tried to shoot them and been killed by this person because they tried to shoot them? Either way, yes she was beat up, but she was alive to talk about it. A couple years ago, we had a person who tried to protect themselves from an intruder and actually scared off the intruder but got shot and killed by the cops because they didn't drop the gun when these trigger happy cops showed up, so you have to worry about the bad and good guys doing you in.

the point is... you failed to prove your point

It happened in my state (SC), in a nice community not far from my house. It is not a high crime area. Door-to-door sales are not considered trespassing unless the resident puts someone on notice. It's not enough for a police response.

Yikes!

These are the type of homes in Cane Bay:

Lindera Preserve at Cane Bay Plantation: Arbor Collection New Home Community - Summerville - Charleston, South Carolina | Lennar Homes

I agree the cop was really angry at the guy and he told me to stay back while he talked to him. I think the was know to the cops for the wrong reasons. The cops knew me and Finlay , we where well known around town ,
I did not how well until after Finlay die.

N.H. teenager’s murder trial in machete attack begins - The Boston Globe

I would like to see Seb and alive tell this young woman and her dad nothing will happen "just give them what they want" . The young woman is lucky to be 'alive' . She and dad where on TV this week and she is an amazing strong young woman .

So are they alive or dead? And if they had a gun was that going to help them or get them killed by these invaders? Check your spelling and syntax on your previous post, It needs to be fixed.

After Brutal Home Invasion, Some Scars Never Heal - ABC News

Hearing the noise, the man with the gun pulled Duffy off the bed and dragged her back to the living room, where Dittrich and the second attacker were still arguing, according to the couple.

“He just grabbed the back of my shirt, pulled me off of the bed, put the gun back on me, said, ‘Get your purse,’” Duffy said. “Then he told me, ‘Just dump it out.’ My phone fell face down on the couch and I remember thinking, ‘There’s my phone. It’s right there.’"

Maybe she should have politely told him ..."Please wait about 2 minutes for first responders to show up .. after I call 911"

I stated my point, exactly, twice.

Its truly sad that you guys keep up debating on guns, gun controls etc...and NOBODY on AD even mention about SC man that got divorced and murdered his 5 children from age 1 to 8, dumped in Alabama, busted in Mississippi for being wanted in SC after his Ex wife reported missing 5 kids.

Cause of death: Still unknown, not released.

News has been hovering around for couple days already.

What's sad about us sharing our perspectives, spicing up Alldeaf some? No need for mudane baa'ing.

Cause debating about gun control will NOT solve a shit, not even a nanogram of shit. Still murder going on by human, not gun!
