they didn't shoot first.... they warned her many many many times and attempted to block her but she was too vicious and had to be put down like a rabid dog.

Justify killing an unarmed person by comparing it to the killing of a dog.. Interesting.

and?

FYI - she was armed with a deadly weapon... her vehicle.

I was trained that you can take this thing called a police car and do an interesting trick called pinning a vehicle. But I guess there is no substitute for the expediency of bullets?

pinning a vehicle is not a guarantee. cops did a right thing and they did a very good job. not a single innocent people got hurt. i'm amazed. not even a baby inside the car.

It doesn't even seem as if she "rammed" anything at all:

But that illegal U-turn certainly got this response:

She seemed distraught. Apparently that is a capitol offense in DC.

You know, out of towners get overwhelmingly confused when they drive through DC. One wrong turn, and you can end up on a highway going to Virginia or Maryland, when you had actually thought that little side street was going to take you to a parking lot so you and your family could spend the day looking at the Smithsonian Museums along the National Mall.

Most people, when they first drive thru DC, cannot tell the difference between a The Department of Agriculture federal building from one of the Smithsonian Museums at a quick drive by glance. Maybe, just maybe, that guard house with armed Capitol Police and Secret Service agents next to the Senator parking looks like you can pull through, get a ticket for parking, just like at a shopping mall parking lot. Little do people know that if you decide to actually pull through one of those quaint guard posts, that you will have Secret Service Agents, as well as Capitol Police, sprouting from the cracks in the sidewalk, they appear from nowhere, and swarm your car.

If you are prone to panic attacks, and anxiety, and see a gun being waved in your face, you might just decide to make a U-turn and hightail it out of there.

She was unarmed, with a child in her car. She was a 33 year old dental hygienist with no history of violence, when she got out of her car after she crashed, they shot and killed her right in front of her child. Congratulations DC police, you made your gestapo comrades proud today.

I remember seeing a post somewhere ... hmmm ... wonder where it was, about a guy panicking when his range rover was surrounded.

Oh, and by the way, if you decide to drive through DC, you had better be wearing your seat belt by golly! If you don't, they might just sic an AC 10 warthog on your posterior.

She didn't ram this police car:

Cop car crashes into police barriers at Capitol Hill - YouTube

that police barrier... interesting. looks like it will pop up if it detects a vehicle traveling at high speed???

It does (pop up). I saw them up on 9/11 when they shut down DC. I am not sure if it pops up when it detects a hi speed traveling car though. They use it to block traffic.

Kind of like to contain someone trying to escape, or to block traffic to keep cars away from prime locations.

And ... I also recall every single box truck entering DC (after the barricades went down) being pulled over and searched.

the pop-up wasn't there before a police car went thru.

There is something called escalation of force, they didn't even try to pin the vehicle and in most cases, it will stop the car, then you break the window and secure the driver.

US Capitol Police motto: "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas"

oic. you must be quite an expert in police chase, police procedure, etc.

no... but this violent evasion certainly got these response...

Dramatic Footage of DC Car Chase - YouTube

She panicked Jiro. She was trying to get the hell away - she was not trying to attack anyone. Also, when someone panics, they do not think rationally. They go through what is called a "fight or flight syndrome". she decided, obviously, to flee.

She also ran over no one.

The chase began at 2:12 p.m. when Ms. Carey, who was driving a black two-door Infiniti with Connecticut plates, tried to ram through a White House checkpoint at 15th and E Streets Northwest. “The guys ran to try to stop her, and she wasn’t going to slow down, so they jumped aside,” said B. J. Campbell, a tourist from Portland, Ore., who was standing near the White House. “One of the guys grabbed one of those little metal fence sections and shoved it in front of her, across the driveway. She hit the brakes slightly and tried to get around it on the right, but the guy shoved it in front of her again, to try to keep her in.”

Mr. Campbell said the woman “hit the gas, ran over the barricade” and hit the officer, who flipped onto the hood of the car and “rolled off into the gutter.”

“After she ran him down, she gunned it, and she just went screaming down Pennsylvania Avenue,” he said. “They were busy calling on their phones, on the radios. It was like poking a hornet nest. There were guys everywhere. I didn’t see anyone with their guns out, but they were sure busy.”

Despite attempts by uniformed Secret Service officers to get her to pull over, Ms. Carey sped down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the Capitol at speeds up to 80 miles per hour and drove through several red lights, law enforcement officials said.

Several minutes later, officers appeared to have the woman cornered in front of the western side of the Capitol facing the National Mall. But as officers, with their weapons drawn, approached Ms. Carey’s car, she rammed it into reverse.

Officers tried to dodge out of the way, but the Infiniti struck a police car and raced up Constitution Avenue, where it crashed into a barrier.

What occurred next was not clear. Ms. Carey managed to get out of the car, and was shot by several officers. According to a law enforcement official, she was not armed, and it was not known whether she presented an immediate danger.

“When we confronted her about certain situations within the office, she had a temper,” Dr. Weiss said.

The lockdown on the Capitol was lifted at 3 p.m. and a half-hour later legislators resumed squabbling over defunding Obamacare and taking partisan potshots at each other. :laugh2: at least the news realized that's all they're doing in there...

The Capitol Hill cops who risked their lives chasing the woman are deemed “essential workers,” but they are currently working without pay. :eek3: The hell? Protect us, FOR NO PAY! Douches....

Tragic case, glad that kid is alright though, amazing the child was unharmed! Very glad the child was unharmed.

Nowhere in that video did I see anyone struck by her vehicle.

Maybe I should just ignore the lying video footage and the photographs that show no damage to her front bumper :dunno:

maybe she ran over the invisible barrier that causes no damage?

I agree, I didn't see anyone struck either or damage from ramming the barricade. Those barricades are thick metal that weigh quite a bit, I've seen them in person. No denting on the area of the car where a full grown man apparently landed. I guess people will believe any story a cops says because surely they never lie to cover up incompetence.

were you involved in this situation?

You still question my credibility here when you seemingly have no credibility. I'm interested in what is your training or experience here is if I may ask. Anyway, I said my say, another topic I'm done with.

because the camera didn't catch it.

 why am I not surprised by your response?

I don't need a training nor experience to say otherwise. Cops involved in this situation are trained and they did the best they could. In fact, they did a good job. That's why not a single innocent people including a baby was injured or killed.

You on the other hand... are sitting on that chair, criticizing them and saying that you can do the job better than them.... :laugh2:
