Are deaf kids bullied/harrassed more frequently than hearing kids in mainstream?

Txgolfer, it's a FACT that dhh kids are strong visual processors. ASL CAPITALIZES on that strengh, so they can LEARN CONTENT easily!
Simple!

100% False

Asl doesn't give deaf children full access to language development? Whatever u think, be my guest.

U are definitely a supporter of the oral-only philosophy ..if you weren't, you wouldn't be saying all that stuff u have said in this thread. U really keep contradicting yourself.

Where did I say that?

Nope. Not at all. I am in favor of a parent assessing what is best for their individual child. I have been very clear about that in several threads.

that's the problem. there are many of us with issues because our parents thought it was the best possible solution for us.

..... and even now in 2013.... this same ole' pattern is still continuing and we're putting end to it because we already have a proven system that works well for many, if not all, and covers many, if not all. you, on the other hand, are supporting to continue the flawed system. a costly one as well.

I support parents. :)

I support parents. :)

I support children. I don't know why you don't support us giving parents an excellent option. Don't you want to end this broken cycle?

since you support parents... don't you want them to save a trip from agony and headache?

I don't necessarily agree with your opinion on that. And I would rather see parents base their opinions on facts and statistics rather than personal biases and opinion.

typical response. facts and statistics.... yea that's what I hear for past few decades. still a broken and deeply flawed system.

shame that you're a victim of your own personal bias and opinion by refusing to budge from old broken system rather than considering facts and statistics of an inclusive system that has a high yield of positive results.

21st century, ya know? FYI - your post sounds lazy. rather than arguing the specific, you chose to be obtuse and broad by being non-specific and not focusing on specific issue. a person like you is a huge distraction for parents looking for a system that works well.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I believe telling parents to keep an open mind and consider all of the facts is good advice.......in any century.

that's precisely and exactly what we're trying to do. unfortunately, they still resort to "hearing" option without considering other option.

why? gee... I wonder why....

Parents don't consider the other "option?"

That doesn't seem to answer the question.

then perhaps you don't understand my answer? majority of us are the result of our parents' decision to not consider "other" option. exactly what is it that you don't understand?
