Good news for same sex partners

And people get married for all kinds of different reasons....not only for "Love"....some for convenience, wealth, children, forced marriages....list goes on and on....even "lust"....now another reason "pops up"!...another gay marries a gay person who is illegal in the US, and wants to stay because "they are in Love".....say what?...

If the gay couple were so in Love...they knew how or what to do to legalize themselves in order to stay here in our Country....Just being in Love don't cut it, Foxrac....

Excuse me, I just made mistake to mention a love so I was point about marriage, or civil unions instead of put love.

That's sad about you took my post seriously, even I made mistake, so I felt that you are mocking on my intelligence.

One of biggest thing that I care - I want homosexual couples to have FULL EQUALITY as heterosexual couples, those are extremely important to me.

This thread will going be locked up soon.

I'm very sad that some members don't understand about homosexual couples because they are minority, the sex orientation isn't choice and they do have strong feeling. The homosexual couples have deal with numerous discrimination from government and workplaces, and disowned by families. They are deserved to have full equality as heterosexual couples enjoyed for many years.

I rather to have members who support and full understand about gay rights to discuss in our thread, instead of getting drowned by people who don't have any understanding in gay rights.

I noticed that my posts are easily to be politicized and I'm not happy about that.

Well, I'm sorry, Foxrac...not everyone agrees with you....but I do like you and give you Kudos for standing up to what you feel is right and just....The gays aren't the only ones having to fight for their "rights"...we deafies do also, blacks, latinos...list goes on and on....

I used had boyfriend that is immigrated to US legally when he was little boy. He's Thai and he was very cute. He does have permanent green card and haven't make any chance to become an US citizen. I encouraged him to work to become an US citizen and he can enjoys all rights, including vote. I was with him for 2 years and got broke up in 2006 because both of him and I were victim of bullying, even cyber bullying too, that happened outside of school. I had received a threat message too, that wasn't cool and it already ruined my great time with my boyfriend. Now, he works at small shop with his mother, and her mother owns the business.

I rather to have a man or woman who are US citizen, and born in US because I don't want to deal with lengthly, red tape, immigration issues. The immigration issues are very complicated and more costly to win the case in the court. That's my personal decision about not want marry to foreigners or immigrants due to legal issues.

how do you do another thread,i tried before bit hit or miss,i know this wrong thread to ask

Not to be rude, but it is hard to see the point of this thread. In the OP you say "discuss" but then you criticize everyone who discusses. It sounds more like you want people to celebrate rather than discuss. That is fine, of course, but you should probably remove the word "discuss" if you do not want a discussion.

I'm trying to prevent this thread from getting out of control like many gay rights related threads got locked up. I already know about your view on gay rights and you don't have to argue with us, and it already served on purpose. It didn't change me or you about how we are thinking about gay rights.

When I mention "discuss", I assume that people will discuss by explaining about how immigration rights work, how make same equality for homosexual couples as heterosexual couples, instead of make any negative posts. Are you against on current immigration law? The old policy is only limited to heterosexual couples so they added homosexual couples to make fair for gay couples.

I made clarify - I'm happy that federal changed the policy to include homosexual couples in immigration/deportation cases, so I feel it is fair now.

I thought he simply wanted to pontificate his views.

The OP just does not have any legal foundation. I can see married couples being declared "relatives". I can see brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc. as being "relatives". But, for the life of me, I have no clue how lovers can possibly be "relatives". It 100% would not matter if the lovers are same-sex or opposite-sex.
Lovers can not be declared "relatives".

What hell are you talking about legal foundation?

The problem is, you pick political topics to discuss, so of course they end up being politicized. The laws pertaining to immigration are politically based. Anything that is a law or federal administrative procedure is going to be political. That's how we get our laws; politicians debate and then vote on them. They don't appear out of the air.

Right now, same-sex issues are political hot potatoes. That's just a fact of life. No one is trying to make them political--they just are.

Human behaviors don't exist in a political vacuum.

wastes your times argues times !what do you have problems!! I notice! I believe you mixing to argue!!

I don't need to hear news!

Who is he?

What is "pontificate his views" means?
"Pontificate his views" means to announce one's viewpoint on a topic and expect others to accept it without question.

Well, a lot of my posts are politicalized in non-political threads and many conservative members are easily react to my posts, and made backfire statement against me.

The homosexuality is personal matter and I want homosexual people to have full equality as heterosexual couples do. I don't like to see majority (heterosexual) to underestimate the sex orientation and they said sex orientation is choice, but it is not. I had through the conversion therapy and I made a long story, so no one want to share with my experience, except for gay people. Hate to say, you need to be homosexual or bisexual to have experience, so heterosexual people really don't understand about how homosexual people feeling.

Meaning, there is no legal basis or reason for something.

What?

My biggest point about this thread - I'm happy that federal changed the policy to cover the homosexual people, that's fair now.

I don't know about Steinhauer was point at who? He should mention exact member name.

I just want heterosexual people to understand about homosexual people instead of criticize them, put them in bad side, discrimination and mistreatment.

I expected some gay members willing to discuss in this thread, but it didn't happened. I'm only person that praised at government for change the policy that make fair for homosexual people, since rest of you drowned my thread down. I'm not interested to see repeated of other threads with all debate, argument, quibbling, bashing, etc over gay rights issues. I just want all anti-gay comments to out of thread.

The problem you seem to be having is the difference between POLICY and LAW.
There is a legal definition of "relative" and, as I have posted, there is no legal foundation that the court would rule lovers (regardless of being same-sex or opposite-sex) "relatives".

Maybe not everyone has read your thread yet. Some people don't touch here on Saturdays because they're busy.
