Teachers has no position to make decisions to tell anything to children but teaching them only according to the educaiton. santa is not an educaiton but holiday.

Interesting. What if the teacher tells them there is no God?

i thought god is the same as fairy tale, santa and goes on.

teachers should not mention about GOD to children or adult except the course at any college stated " i dont believe in god" then teacher can say about it.

There is no holiday for Santa.

But you're right about the teacher.

If the question came up during class, she could tell the students, "Children, that is something you should ask your parents."

Hmmm. What if? Would the teacher get terminated? Interesting.
Hard to say. It would depend on the circumstances, the teacher's contract, and the school board policy. That's impossible to know with a hypothetical question.

It is equally hard to prove the existence of either God or Santa Claus. It is a matter of personal belief and faith, I suppose, and more power to them.

What about the opposite situation? Suppose the teacher told the class there is a God?

I can only hope the children ask for proof. Just as a teacher needs to prove no existence of something. A teacher can prove that two plus two equals four.

Oh yea, that would go over really well.

I asked my speech therapist why people have sex. (I didn't know anything about O's at the time.) She said "Ask your mother."

Smart answer. I don't think my mom would have appreciated her telling me about the pleasures of sex.

Good. I'm glad you didn't get the chance to ask for proof.

In science class when I talked about the concept of matter with my 3rd graders. One of them said it was because God created matter...I just said, "Ok" and kept on going with the subject without any further discussion about God. I would never tell my students that there is no such thing as God or Santa Clause.

I would have told my own kids what I think but not in classrooms.. That said, I think the parents overreacted in this case.

Oh i tell my kids my opinions. My daughter believes in God and she knows I dont and we respect each other for that. I dont pressure her into changing her beliefs. My son believes in Santa Clause and I see nothing wrong with it. I believed in him until I was like 7 or 8 and looking back, I was glad I had that magic of innonence. The world is already hard enough as it is.
