I just finished the first series of Code Geass. Good anime. I'm now getting ready to watch the second series. :)

I watched "Dance in the Vampire Bund" on YouTube. Interesting anime,

Wirelessly posted

I used to watch anime when I was teen. My favorite are: gurren lagann and space cowboy.

"WHO THE HELL YOU DO THINK WE ARE!?"

My favourite manga movie series is "It Started With A Kiss" and "They Kiss Again" (The Taiwanese version). Also the Korean series "You're Beautiful" and "Boys Over Flowers" and "The Vineyard Man".

ive been watching black cat on hulu lately. its way different from the book, but still the same story...its disappointing.

was watching vampire knight...not sure if ill go back. just finished code geass, the first series. now watching the second series. waitin on bleach.

I'm currently watching Occult Academy. Ever seen it?

It's about this guy who is sent to 1999 from the future to destroy something before that something destroys everything else. His only tool of assistance is a cell phone that lets him take pictures of something and see what shows up after he "intends" to do "something" to it.

Is that any good? I've been looking for some new anime to watch, and the last thing I downloaded was a bit of a flop.

So far I've seen, in no particular order:
  • Haibane Renmei (my most favoritest show ever)
  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (First and Second Gig)
  • Ghost in the Shell (movie, nowhere near as good as SAC, to me)
  • Death Note (decent, but a train wreck at the end, and a bit overhyped)
  • Naruto (who hasn't?)
  • Bleach (ditto)
  • Fullmetal Alchemist (first version, + Conqueror of Shambala)
  • Gunslinger Girl
  • Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revolution (both seasons)
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Trigun
  • Elfen Lied (very bloody/violent, but good)
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion (and all the subsequent movies, but not the newer remakes)
  • The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (very good)
  • Spirited Away
  • The Girl Who Lept Through Time
  • Princess Mononoke
  • Read or Die
  • Serial Experiments Lain
  • Dennou Coil
  • Tsubasa Chronicle
  • Eden of the East

What was the last thing you saw that was a flop?

Of all the ones you listed, I've seen...

  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (I like the theme song. The show was not what I expected because it didn't exactly follow the timeline as either movies.)
  • Ghost in the Shell (1 & 2)
  • Death Note (Wasn't thrilled with the way it ran. They cut out a lot of parts that were in the manga.)
  • Naruto (I'm almost done.)
  • Bleach (Seen a few on television. Will watch the whole series soon.)
  • Fullmetal Alchemist (Saw both the series and movie, not the brotherhood series.)
  • Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revolution (Almost done with 2nd season.)
  • Cowboy Bebop (Seen some episodes and movies.)
  • Trigun (One of my favorites.)
  • Elfen Lied (This was good.)
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion (The original series, not remake.)
  • Spirited Away
  • Princess Mononoke

I've also seen Midori no Hibi, Pretear, Ninja Scroll, Karin, Detective Conan (halfway through), and a few others I can't name at this moment.

The Girl Who Lept Through Time. I was simply expecting something very different from what it was. It wasn't terrible, but I won't likely watch it again.

GitS:SAC I liked better than the movies cause I saw it first, I think, lol.

I 100% recommend Haibane Renmei to anyone at all who can get their hands on it, it's by far my favorite show, ever. It's not "action-y" though, if that's your thing.

Any recommendations?

Studio Ghibli

I've been working my way through the Studio Ghibli anime films with my daughter. I've been blown away by them and they've been a bonding experience for me and my daughter. Some of them have touched me at a deep emotional level unlike much of the Hollywood stuff. The ones that particularly affected me were:
Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, My Neighbour Totoro & Howl's Moving Castle.
But I've enjoyed all the ones I've watched (11 so far & still counting). I've been buying 'My Neighbour Totoro' (or "Neighbor") DVDs as gifts for my friends who are parents of youngish children.

I've also watched 'Akira'. Loved the graphics! I remember the weaving light patterns of the motorbikes. Not so gripped by the story.

I particularly want to watch 'Ghost in the Shell' & 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'.

Rurouni Kenshin is good, Vampire Hunter D and of course Ninja Scroll. We have some goofy ones that are good for a laugh like Ranma 1/2 and Tenchi Muyo. Considering my favorite movie ever is City Hunter with Jackie Chan, don't trust my taste too much :laugh2:
