Lies about CI's

Or another one: Parents blindly without questioning follow the advice of doctors.
 
Yet another: hearing parents who choose cochlear implants for their childrenare incapable of loving their children.
 
And yet another from a frequent poster: That parents who choose cochlear implants for their child and also provide them with oral speech therapy are destructive to both their children and to other deaf people.
 
The CI implant gives you a magnetic personality.

I like that one. I have a friend who has a CI and has such a magnetic personality! We all are drawn to him!

People with CIs cannot dive more than 10 feet deep.

People with CIs are developmentally delayed in the social sense.

People with CIs can hear perfectly well.

People with CIs cannot go through a metal detector.

People with CIs get stuck to the refrigerator every time they go into the kitchen.
 
There are thosands of people who died from meningitis from CI's.
 
Children who have cochlear implants must engage in intense speech therapy, hyperintense speech therapy, super duper hyper intense speech therapy and do nothing but speech therapy!

It is impossible for deaf people with CI's to understand speech through listening alone. :roll:

I've seen the 'no sports' one several times too here - has resulted in more than one thread closing when the debate got heated. Another is that CI kids are forcing the closing of sports programs across deaf schools because of the concern about damaging their equipment, making the unaided kids suffer.
