what do you carry daily for your hearing loss? like batteries.....
its funny because i keep things in my pocket and i washed my batteries...
what are the basic necesseties for a deaf person a must have when traveling daily

my cousin is deaf but she rarely uses hearing aids she relies on interpreters and paper but i just want to get advice here to see other peoples perceptions

I have gotten by with only a cellphone for a long time when the hearing aids fail. :) Better than carrying a notepad around.

If it's really urgent, then I just go to the nearest electronics store and fork over money for overpriced batteries.

Batteries, batteries and more batteries,I need alot as I have CI, my other half is also deaf so i carry his batteries too, also I am LSA for deaf school so need ALOT of batteries in my bag!!! and of course my Iphone! cannot live without it!

batteries and my pager. I can live without my batteries but my pager, hell no!

I have a CI (N5). If I'm on a trip I carry my case that has a dryer in it. Spare batteries and sometimes a small cloth in case I need to clean a little.

I usually just take my phone and if my batteries fail then oh well.
on a lot of occasions I do take my bag with me and that has batteries in but a lot of the time I forget to take batteries with me

At school, I carry my iCom and zoomlink and always have extra batteries with me. It's important for me because my hearing aids do help when I teach in the classroom, or when there is a public reading event.

But, when out in the world or in social/casual environments, I don't carry anything. Like others have said, if the batteries fail, so what?

I see some people mention pager.. Curious...How is that different than a cell phone? I haven't seen one I guess.

my everyday thing I carry when I go out - 2 wallets. pocket knife. watch. carabiner with dozen of keys. blackberry.

Batteries, cellphone, and if I decide to purchase the smartlink then I guess I would be lugging that around too.

what's iCom and zoomlink? google search's showing me something else.

Pagers are the ancestors of smartphones.

Some people still call their smartphones-- pagers.

:ty: I have never heard them called that except here. Thought maybe there was a special type for the deaf perhaps

Ah I see. I just got into the upper end phone market this year. In my old business I destroyed or lost my phone often....Only the cheapies made sense.

iCom is from phonak..it's bluetooth streamer and audio streamer and zoomlink is another FM system from phonak
