How many czars in White House?

That was a quote by the President of the Police Foundation, not the White House. :laugh2: You really do need to slow down and read.

It's on the White House.gov page. They have no problems with the word "czar" with a "For Immediate Release" at the top.
Apparently you have a BIG problem with the word, czar. Get over it.

It was not a quote made by the White House. It was a statement made by the President of the Police Foundation. Are you suggesting that the White House should have edited his statement?

No matter how you try to spin it, the quote cannot be attributed to the White House, as you have intellectually dishonestly attempted to do. I believe the gamer jargon is "pwned!"

Not intellectually dishonest when the facts are already apparent and available. For you to say such a thing is again being intellectually dishonest.

The White House says the word "czar".
So does CNN in print. And in video. So does MSNBC. CBS. ABC. Good Morning Amerika. And so on.

Face it, you keep denying that they don't say "czar" when they do, apparently.

let me help you there. Maybe you need a new pair of glasses or a cup of coffee. I don't know. here we go. from the link you graciously provided for us to see...

Official White House statements
White House Announces New Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy

Washington, DC – Vice President Biden announced today that President Obama will nominate Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske as the new Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

"With escalating violence along our Southwest border and far too many suffering from the disease of addiction here at home, never has it been more important to have a national drug control strategy guided by sound principles of public safety and public health. We must demonstrate to our international partners, the criminal organizations threatening to undermine stability and the rule of law in those nations, and the American people, that we take seriously our responsibility to reduce drug use in the United States. Gil Kerlikowske has the expertise, the experience, and the sound judgment to lead our national efforts against drug trafficking and use, and he will make an excellent addition to my Administration," said President Obama.

"Gil Kerlikowske is recognized both nationally and internationally for his innovative leadership and law enforcement solutions. He brings a lifetime of experience working on drug policy issues. He has worked on the issue at all levels – from the Department of Justice to the front lines as a major city chief. He understands that combating drugs requires a comprehensive approach that includes enforcement, prevention and treatment," said Vice President Joe Biden.

"The Police Foundation applauds the appointment of Gil Kerlikowske as the nation’s next Drug Czar. He is a 36-year law enforcement veteran who has served as Chief of Police in two major American cities. Gil understands the devastating impact that drugs have had on families and communities in our country. He is an innovator who will reach out across different disciplines to pull together the type of team that will enable our nation to develop the policies and strategies required to effectively address the drug problem. Gil Kerlikowske is an outstanding choice for the position of Drug Czar," said President of the Police Foundation Hubert Williams.

"As the head of a national victim-serving organization, I understand the connection between illegal drugs and crime. The National Center for Victims of Crime believes that our nation needs a Drug Czar who is a skilled manager, is open to new research, and has a strong reputation with the law enforcement community. Mr. Kerlikowske embodies those qualities," said Mary Lou Leary, Executive Director for the National Center for Victims of Crime.

so on....

Kokonut, I'm not defensive. It's called a sense of humor. You might want to get one.

I just transcribed the relevant portions of the CNN video from Youtube.

At the beginning:
President Obama today declared that special interests and lobbyists have blocked health care reform for decades and he said those groups will not prevail this time around, but the president has still asked those very same special interests and lobbyists to help shape those reforms and his health czar has close ties to the health care industry.

At 0:47:
But on the inside track of Mr. Obama's health reform team is newly appointed health czar with extensive industry connections.

The fact is that such positions have been unofficially labeled "czar" for decades.

Thank you for the partial transcript. Partial is better than none at all, but still out of context. Fact still remains that it is not the White House using the term, but the media. And the deaf members of this forum are still being asked to "take my word for it." I think it should be left to them to decide which portions are relevant and which aren't.

because apparently, the White House is not practicing censorship :)

Exactly. But if they had, you can be sure he would have posted about it.:D Shame he seems to think it is okay to practice censorship by posting audio without a transcript for deaf members.

No, I do not. But that is not what this post started out as, nor is it the intent of the OP to discuss such.
Cool. Glad we agree on that, although from reading the first post, that does seem to be the intent of the thread- not to get into a debate about the legitimacy of the term "czar".

Thanks for the partial transcript. I'd much rather see the full one though.

Cool. The intent becomes clear with subsequent posts.

Gibbs certainly didn't stop the report or object the use of the word "czar," either.

White House: 'Car czar' idea replaced by team with 'vast amount of expertise' - USATODAY.com

And the word officially sanctioned in a White House blog, too.

If they are allowing and using the word "czar" then that means they find the word acceptable. No intellectual dishonesty on part. I made every effort to point out that the word "czar" is use by the MSM and the White House.

So, you do think they should be censoring the quotes from others? Doesn't surprise me given that you believe that school kids should be educated with a big dose of censorship. :giggle:

so....... where did the White House use the word "czar" in their statements? I'm not seeing it. Perhaps can you kindly point it to me?

I didn't see it either. I was looking in the wrong place. I did find the use of it and it was not from the White House.

Exactly. It is intellectually dishonest to attempt to portray it as coming from the White House.

And you're the only one who got it. While everybody else is up in arms over the word "czar."

My prediction came true. It's worse than I thought, I admit.

It is a de facto endorsement of the use of the word "czar" if it's anywhere on Whitehouse.gov site. They do have the ability to make policy changes regarding the use of the word "czar" on the public taxpayers' website anytime they want. But they didn't.

they didn't and there's no policy regarding the use of the word "czar" because we do not practice censorship :)
