MVP HOT SPOT (WIFI ONLY) Discussion

hi, im at school right.. im on their wifi, i got in but i cannot make any calls, can any1 give me an insight on this?

thanks!

I just tried it at my place of work. It did pick up wifi, but it's very weak (same as home) and doesn't work at all. :\

I been watching all of this unfolds....geez....I rather wait until installer comes over and set up the router for me. I am in no big hurry. lol

You know that router is password protected, right? The installer won't tell you what the password is.. it's a big security breach in my opinion. I refuse to use their router, I'd like to have access if there is a problem.

what the f? they wont give u a password to access wireless? i mean how the heck would your computers/laptops connect to dir 625?

well my suggestion is to perform a reset, wipe out all that hovrs crap on the router itself

I will go to Mall, test hotspot soon, they have few hotspot

I know why it works at apple store because of video stuff they do so it makes sense. did people at the apple store gawk at ur toy?

yeah, they were like wtf is that thing? lol.... I FEEL LIKE IM HOLDING THIS 10 years old kids toy!

Contact your school's computer admin. It is possible they had it blocked?

mean you contact EVERY wifi adminstrater to configrue for mvp? hotels, starfucks, mcdonalds, airports?? heard whole city 2 million population provided free public wifi and mvp dont work at all

I believe it's better to leave MVP as normally to travel than rather to be set like vp-200. Otherwise, we couldn't get personal leave message in video. or something...

you imply mvp not mobile at all?

MAC ID do nothing with ports. MAC ID is for Mac address filter only. :giggle:

Unfortunately, you misunderstood, some modem or router requires MAC ID to port forwarding thought this method. I know because I am a Technician and work for Purple. And as for public wifi it works for me unless you know how to set it up properly in MVP setting. I use DHCP on public wifi and turn off public IP, I get incoming all with PLN wit no problem at all since PLN is on SIP server. People who try to call you with IP address will not work on public wifi hotspot.

That sounds about right. :)
