Can you explain what adro is?

adro is a program that is used to soften background noise. it works similarly to a noise compression feature on hearing aids. for example, if i am running water at the tap, it reduces the overall sound to a softer level that is comfortable to hear.

you can read more about adro here:

I have hypersensitive hearing so I really wish I could turn the volume knob down on the world sometimes. Sometimes I blatantly which I had CI-like hearing and could just turn off my ears when I needed to. Especially when I'm having a migraine. This migraine has been coming and going and coming and going over the past 5 days and when I have a terrible migraine, I truly wish I would completely deafblind.

No. I actually just talked to my therapist yesterday about it and she said that I should seriously consider it even though I was raised to only take medications as a last resort.

I am considering it now. It is just hard for me because my body does not respond typically to most medications since I never took anything beyond an aspirin (and even those only when I was in too much pain to move) till age 18.

hi everyone,

i just realized something. while running the tap water in the bathroom, i noticed my ci's quiet down. it seems as though my audi has added adro to my programs. she said that all 4 of my programs are identical and have the same volume level. now i understand why i'm no longer bothered by every sound i hear. better yet, no dizziness. smile.

I'm glad you are liking your new map. How are you feeling today?

Have you tried ear plugs?

travis,

it sounds like you are having trouble with tinnitus because of your medication. if i remember correctly, seroquel can cause tinnitus as a side effect. i would talk to your psychiatrist and let him or her know about the side effects (tinnitus) you are having right away. your psychiatrist can put you on a lower dose or a different medication so that you no longer have tinnitus.

travis,

divalproex is another name for valproic acid (divalproex and valproic acid same). it is also called depakote (divalproex, valproic acid and depakote same). i take divalproex for my bipolar disorder too.
