I'm not sure what you mean by not finding the dictionary. It's not a dictionary like the way dictionary.com is. It's an internal dictionary that the computer uses to check your spelling. Were you able to do all the steps?

The spell-check dictionary does three kinds of checking:

1. Automatic self-correcting. As you type, a suggested spelling will pop up and change the spelling itself.

2. Automatic checking without self-correcting. As you type, a red line pops up under the word, drawing your attention to the error. Then, you can manually correct it, or right-click on the word and pick the correct spelling.

3. Manually checking. If you suspect that there is a different spelling for the word you typed you can right-click on the word and see the options. This is useful when the auto-spell checker thought you spelled it right but you really meant a different word.

Of course, none of the spell checkers catch the use of wrong words. That is, if you meant to use "their" but typed "there" it won't show up as a spelling error. If you use a grammar checker it might catch it but that's a different function.

Make sure you selected British English, not American English for your language choice.

You did fantastic job! Seem like you went in a breeze.... Would it be cool to have AllDeaf'ers attend your graduation?

I like sneaker's idea...Hmmm :)

As for certification-- there is one I can start out with maybe that isn't too bad cost wise, the others I'll have to figure out something or if there is some kind of program (other than for students which I am not) to help with costs...

Okay so I just read this thread... and Reba... in the cyber world you are 36. Lol, with so much sass... you've got to be 36. :p

"Systems and Procedures."
"This course covers system analysis, design, development and implementation."

I took a course similar to that one. You will be learning to design and develop in house system using charts like the system flow chart and the Gantt chart etc.

Fun class if you like using your brain :D

The Gantt chart isn't necessary for using a computer. It's just a format that's available for project planning and scheduling. It's a tool used mostly by business and organizations.

You can happily live your whole life without using a Gantt chart. :)

I should get some pictures. Hubby will take some, and the professional photographer will take one. At least one should come out OK. :)

I did want to work in the field before I got the Parkinson's diagnosis. Now, I'll just have the knowledge to take care of the computers for our family and a few friends.

After getting the PD diagnosis, I did want to complete the degree also to keep my mind from deteriorating, and not give in to the disease.

If I could travel to England I would help you with your computer, no charge. :)

The degree is Computer Technology-Information Systems Specialist (AAS.COMPT.INFSY).

My certificates are:

Microcomputer Expert User (Microcomputer Database, Microcomputer Word Processing, e-Commerce, Advanced Microcomputer Apps, Multimedia Concepts & Apps)--4.00.

Microcomputer Business Applications (Basic Computer Concepts, Microcomputer Database, Microcomputer Word Processing, Microcomputer Spreadsheets, )--4.00.

Congratulations! Now how are you going to put it to use? Any job prospects yet?
