What is the difference? Why streets have yellow lines and white lines?

Do they matter?

If a slow car is in front of me on a two way lane, but I can't drive that slow. :hyper:

On the two way lane, Solid yellow line on my side, I can't pass? :hyper:

On the two way lane, Double solid yellow lines, no car can't pass? :hyper:

On the two way lane, Broken yellow line on my side, I can pass? :hyper:

That doesn't make any sense to me.

it's called road rules, they paint lines to keep the road orderly.

why are you making so much thread about similar things?

To see if you guys know the answer...
if you guys don't know the answer, then shame on you.

.. .

what a waste of time, I actually think you don't know shit and is in need of help.

You are supposed to attend driver education.

Since I've been driving for over 32 years and have never gotten a ticket, I don't think I need to "prove" that I know how to drive. :D

Are you referring to the lane lines? They are all white here.

What do you mean you "can't drive that slow?" Why not?

Right. When the solid line is on your side, you can't pass.

On the two way lane, Double solid yellow lines, no car can't pass? :hyper:
Right. No passing.

On the two way lane, Broken yellow line on my side, I can pass? :hyper:
Yes, if it is safe.

That doesn't make any sense to me.
What part doesn't make sense to you?

*Are you referring to the lane lines? They are all white here.

you don't have yellow lines on your streets? You know that yellow line
in the middle of the street, those busy streets downtown?

*What do you mean you "can't drive that slow?" Why not?

If the speed sign said 40, I wanna go 45.
Cops won't waste time writing speeding tickets for that.

*What part doesn't make sense to you?
If a dump truck is in front of you, going 5 mph, I wanna pass.
It isn't fair.

All white here. White, with recessed reflectors.

You wrote "can't"; you mean "don't want to."

They will write you a ticket if you tailgate or try to pass where you shouldn't. Even at legal speed limit there is such a thing as "reckless" driving, and you can get a ticket for that.

Sure, everyone wants to pass but mature, safety-concious, law-abiding drivers wait. Most people aren't stuck in that situation very often.

Hey, life isn't "fair"; deal with it. :D
