Microsoft: Xbox 360 Launch Dates Announced! Nov 22

Xbox 360 Launch Dates Announced!

Tokyo—Fueling global anticipation for the arrival of its powerful new video game and entertainment system, Microsoft® today announced that Xbox 360™ will arrive on store shelves Tuesday, November 22 in North America, Friday, December 2 in Europe, and Saturday, December 10 in Japan. The announcement, made on the eve of Tokyo Game Show 2005, marked the first time that a game console will be launched in three territories in the same time frame. In preparation for what is expected to be massive worldwide demand for the new system, Microsoft also announced that Xbox 360 manufacturing is under way, with state-of-the-art facilities producing millions of units ultimately bound for frenzied gamers' homes from Osaka, Japan, to Oxford, England, and Orlando, Fla.

"This holiday season, gamers in Japan, Europe and North America pining to experience jaw-dropping high-definition graphics, unmatched online play and compelling digital entertainment features of Xbox 360 will finally have the chance," said Robbie Bach, chief Xbox officer for Microsoft. "Renowned development studios around the world are busy putting the finishing touches on their Xbox 360 games. We expect a strong portfolio of titles on launch day and through the holidays that will appeal to fans of every genre and gamers in every region, and with more than 200 games currently in development, continuous new additions to the library are on the way."

Bach and other Microsoft executives, headlining a series of events that open Tokyo Game Show, will detail the company's strategy for success in Japan. More than 40 publishers in Japan, including Bandai Co. Ltd., Capcom Co. Ltd., Koei Co. Ltd., Konami Corp., Namco Ltd., Sega Corp., Square Enix Co. Ltd. and Tecmo Ltd., have pledged their support for Xbox 360, joining the ranks of the best publishers from around the world. As the ultimate canvas for game developers, Xbox 360 will inspire a new wave of innovation in gameplay, storytelling and artistry never before seen in video games.

Promising to capture the imagination of Japanese gamers, new titles and established franchises such as Dead or Alive® 4, Ridge Racer 6, NINETY-NINE NIGHTS™, Dead Rising, and FINAL FANTASY® XI will be available on Xbox 360 in the months to come. With support for high-definition output with anti-aliasing, and Dolby® 5.1 surround sound, all Xbox 360 games will deliver smooth, cinematic experiences that scream off the screen.

In addition to the impressive lineup of titles both in Japan and around the world, you'll soon be able to enjoy the next generation of the Xbox Live® service, the Emmy®-award-winning online games and entertainment network. With Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live service, you can play online in a community of millions, connect with friends using voice and video chat, download new content, build online profiles and experience new modes of entertainment. Xbox 360 is also the ultimate amplifier for music, movies and photos stored on an array of devices including MP3 players, digital cameras and Microsoft® Windows® XP-based PCs. The console makes it easy for you to enjoy all their digital content in the living room, on the best TV and speakers in the house.

I always told him games was HECK BORED GAMING when we were kids.. I never expect i would addict video games.. but NOW, Look at me, I realized me is very addicted video games than ever.. While I'm as excited that Dead or alive 4, Quake 4, Perfect Dark Zero, Rumble Rose XX, and Resident Evil 5 are all coming to Xbox 360 so since in the article above that says that Konami will be working with xbox360 (obvioulsy thats RRXX) but hopefully they will also release Metal Gear Solid 4 as it will still be ahead of Playstation 3 anyway. like they did with Metal Gear Solid 2 : substance on Xbox so I know they didnt do it with MGS3...but I think they should have anyway...

well, let's wait and see so that way I wouldn't really have to waste that much money on getting another console cause I think that xbox360 is the most powerful console I would ever own so it's proably more than enough cause it can even play dvds and orginal xbox games and all others like that.

it's good to hear that the Japanese has got hooked into Xbox360 than they were with the orginal Xbox. :D

GREAT! Now I can use the controller on both my laptop and the xbox360! I quit playing games on my computer since my Thrustmaster PS2/USB controller sucked donkey balls completely. I have some games for my laptop but I havent played it much more than I do my original xbox.

Now I cant wait to get my hands on a real xbox360! Time to save up some moola for that ultimate toy!

Mexico wasnt only place that built the original xbox. Hungary and China came to mind. For one thing I should appreciate that the xbox360 is being built in Japan as the Japanese audience perfer their stuff made in Japan. Building the xbox360 in Japan will sure pull in more Japanese gamers than the original xbox did there.

Yeah X360 has guide button, do you familiar with X360"S GUIDE BUTTON? It made me wondering if that controller's guide button work on PC? or X360 wired controller will come along with CD drivers for PC?

If some of you haven't preordered your Xbox360 yet, then your too late. You would have to wait awhile to get it.

Good thing I preordered mine back in late august. :P

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/09/21/news_6134066.html
I ingore preordered people said, there is toolate for people can't preorder for X360..

Honestly with you, few another days, I walked into store whoch toy's R Us, i asked clerk where game dept about preorder, they told no need to order for X360, saying: "X360 will come first serivce first to you". when I heard what they said. I was rejoicing glad and left store.. Now i aint worry. I will stand in front liner of door at Toy's R us on 11/22... before you post this!

I don't think so that X360 sold it out.. store gave preorder limited and still will selling x360 for non preorder.. for example store will selling 20 percent of x360 for non preorder customers and 70 percent of X360 for preordered customers.

that why I ain't worry about it.. :)

sounds like ur a newbie into the videogame universe, aren't you?

Yes, the premium package does come with a HDD (hard disk drive) and the core package doesn't come with one but have to buy a HDD seperately.

I've hear that if you want to play the orignal Xbox games on Xbox360, the HDD is required to do so. because the Xbox360 has a different processor than the orginal Xbox does.

I can always get my HDD later on while I still have my orginal Xbox to play the orginal Xbox games anyway...I've preordered the core package just to get me the console, wired controller, 64mb memory unit and a couple games to throw in on Nov.22nd. :P like I said before, I'm just a regular gamer...not a hardcore gamer lol. there are always different kinds of gamers out there.

premium are for hardcore gamers, so...if you are a hardcore gamer, then I assume you should already know about this stuff, no offense.

Thanks for reply to my questions, Steel. I am not a HC gamer but my 16 yrs old deaf son is hardcore gamer for Halo 2 Live and among other games  Looks like that would cost 500 all together for xbox360 premium and HDD laptop, I guess. I read the whole thread here and trying to understand how it works :dizzy:
