WWIII has begin?

the right thing implies an "apple"...1 vs. 1...right or wrong...This situation is NOT NK vs. USA.

I never said it was. Jiro did.

He mentioned the only reason NK has nukes is because of the U.S.

isn't that shifting blame for the bad behaviour of NK on the U.S.?

The wikileaks even exposed that China doesn't buy that.

You cannot go anywhere without being exposed to this information.

And yes, they can shut down Wikileaks, it is really quite simple. It does not matter where an organization exists, if they are attacking the U.S. Government, we can do anything to obliterate them.

However, Obama is an inexperienced President. He doesn't know what to do. He will try to do the "politically correct" thing instead of the "right thing".

The right thing to do would be to protect the interests of the United States Government by any means necessary.

In other words...what "experienced" President (/Administration/executive branch) would've done in this situation? Nuke NK? Would that be the right thing to do?

Shutting down WikiLeaks (specifically the 250k cables out in the wild) would take A LOT and not just nuking "them" physically or over the web.

Think outside the box. Our government knew Assange was going to release the information before it was released.

It almost seems .... nothing was done .... intentionally.

An experienced President would never have let it leak. Assange would be brought up on charges and detained. The fact he is a foreigner does not matter. Divulging confidential information to the public is an act of menace.

That is almost a shrewd comment. However, the leak happened on Obama's watch.

I am sure Bush never instructed our diplomats to spy on our allies. I am sure Bush would have instructed wikileaks to be shut down.

Valerie Plume? that was on Bush's watch.

Preventing WikiLeaks from publishing that information would've been impossible. The finger should be pointed at the US military and giving the secret clearance to that douche who obtained it.

The US gov't knew about it because a "Former" hacker ratted him out.

Do you think the Obama Administration wasn't prepared for the eventual leak (It would've been impossible to destroy everything)? How can you call the President that he's politically inexperienced that he couldn't have prevented the leak? It's a cheap-shot. Dirty. Would you have made the same comparison to Bush?

Democracies are based on their abilities to be "transparent" as this gives the government more legitimacy.

How many Obama supporters would not have?

Come on ... be serious. This happened on Obama's watch. He is ultimately responsible for the inaction to prevent this.

Just as the FBI was blamed for ignoring a memo about the 9/11 attacks.

Really? Obama just went "eh, go ahead and steal that classified info that'll be released later"....sweet, can you ask him to prevent global warming?

oh...I thought the Taliban/bin Laden were the donkeys of 9/11....

...Have you ever sat and discussed with a person of Asian descent of all people you might talk to about war and global issues?
Yes, a lady close to my age from N. Korea. She's a friend at my church.

Like I said, just take some time actually reaching out to listen to a perspective that isn't someone from the USA. You'll probably be surprised how hostile they are to what they call, "imperalistic america"
She thanks God still for the American presence that helped make her escape and move to America possible. She married an American serviceman. Now her two adult sons are serving in the American military. She's never said anything hostile about America, nor does she refer to "imperialistic America." ...

Wikileaks can be shut down. They should be shut down. However, to shut down wikileaks, a law has to be broken by the U.S. Government. What wikileaks has done was broken the law (released confidential information that was illegally obtained).

For the U.S. Government to do anything, they have to do it legally.

What wikileaks has done was taken confidential information that can damage my Government, and made it public, with the intention to damage my Government and my fellow Americans.

Everything that be conceivably be known about the personal affairs of those responsible should also be made available to the public. Since they feel they have a right to do this, I am sure they would be willing to share with the world about the fact that Assange is a child molester. We should have access to his personal bank account information.

Wikileaks can be shut down. If not by conventional methods, I am sure those responsible could be persuaded to cease and desist.

We will just release their personal information and that of their families.
Stealing classified materials is a crime. The person who stole the information should be prosecuted to the full extent. Also, there should be a full investigation as to why the documents were so easy to access and steal.

If a person knowingly pays for the stolen material, then he participates in the crime by buying stolen goods. If that's what happened, he should be prosecuted.

However, if he didn't pay for the materials but only published them, that's not a crime, and he can't be prosecuted.

Wikileak is fantastic, it provide info to american people because in recent times US Govt have been doing so much damage to their own American people. lies after lies..it just has to be exposed...not so much for the stunt of breaking confidentiality rather to demonstrate that 'confidentiality' is actually abused. last thing id add here, USA isnt the only country, i would hazard a guess that probably 99% (whats 1% - there probably isnt any) are corrupted to some extend or another big or small...

dang - you beat me to it.

How was that hypocritical?

It wasn't necessary because they surrendered.
correct me if I'm wrong -
about 195,000 American soldiers died fighting against Germans
about 105,000 American soldiers died fighting against Japaneses

why nuke Japan and not Germany?

let's face it. The Caucasians thought poorly of Asian people. The past 3 consecutive wars were Asian conflicts - WW2 (Japan), Korean War, and Vietnam War. It was handled poorly.

Now we're handling Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Drug War poorly. It's time we revert back to Isolationism for time being

So let a eastern country "protect" south Korea. Build a better relationship between south Korea and china/japan....is this not the strategy in place?

Manhattan project was when? And think about the impact of communist Russia coming into the fold on that timeline for BOTH fronts.

There were more variables in countries participating on the German front than the Japanese front; and a lot more risk.

South Korea already has alliance with Japan, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, etc. Protection is not needed because China's not interested in war anyway.

Manhattan project was when? And think about the impact of communist Russia coming into the fold on that timeline for BOTH fronts.
hint - it's just easier to nuke Asians than Caucasians... sssshhhhh
