Dude, I already told you that the bible is irrevelant to people who do not believe in it.

Also, I LOVE how you are citing rotten.com (first link) to support your argument against homosexuality. I suggest that you look at the rest of the site.

Thanks for the link. I tried searching before and couldn't find anything. Your site is a good resource.

Anyway, I checked it out. Unless I overlooked it, I still didn't find a poll that sorted the pro/con vote on the marriage amendment by religious affiliation.

So, I still don't know why posters at AD assume that the only people opposed to same-sex marriage are Christians. Maybe it is just because Christians are more likely to speak out publicly about it.

Also, buckdodgers, the second link is actually speaking out against Jerry Falwell.

Well Jerry Falwell,Pat Robertson and Fred Phelp all against gay marrages and the senate is supposed to serve the people of america instead of looking after special intrest groups. And the democrats are looking after special intrest groups rather than serve the american people on this issue.

Bullshit? Then Read this?
What does the Bible say about homosexuality? Is homosexuality a sin?

Read down and it will say Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
There you have it,,YOU WILL NOT ENTER HEAVEN If you commit a homo act.
Romans 2:1-7 You would not say to him "YOU WILL NOT ENTER HEAVEN" It not right say that! Just pray for him!

1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

That's the problem. Those states that want to decide are not allowed to. Some states have already passed laws that prohibit same-sex "marriages", BUT the courts have disallowed them. The reason that a national Constitutional amendment was proposed was so that the state and district courts wouldn't be able to strike down the state laws.

Check your state constitution. The courts exist in order to rein in the actions of the legislature, just as they do at the national level. Those states' constitutions have been interpreted as disallowing a ban on gay marriage; if the states want to ban gay marriage, they need to vote to change their constitutions first, not go whining to the federal government.

Hi EyesBlueDeaf, I want to comment that you will notice that God and Jesus Christ said that they were not talking about anything in a sexual context. God and The Lord Jesus Christ were talking about the law that was prescibed " Love Thy Neighbor " and They were expanding upon the subject to make the law more clear and while that is true and part of loving your neighbor is to tell the truth concerning the issue of homosexuality and what God had to say on the subject in the KJV Holy Bible. This is a very good discussion and also, This really should be in the Christianity forum.

EyesBlueDeaf said:
Only Fred Phelps thinks that!

No. Other people think this way, too. Hate breeds hate. It's sad that we all can't come together and have an open discussion about this. Notice I said "discussion", and NOT a debate. We've been debating this for eons, and nobody seems no one has gotten the clue that we're not making any headway in the way of tolerance and appreciation for one's differences.

That's true. However, I don't think the states are "whining" to the Feds. I think the states want to tend to their own gardens, so to speak. It's the FEDS who want to come in and decide this issue FOR the states. It's a political ploy by the Feds, and so far, it's failed.

I think Democrats are lost in the election on this issue.Just like Canada liberal party lost last year on social issues.

It's nothing new one, when back in 80's, democrats were weak until around early 90's then gained more stronger again then I think it will be gain more stronger in 2008 or so. You don't know about political issues in 80's, when during Reagon term, former government of California in 1967 until 1975. Just certain years to see democrats or republicans are weak or strong, some are switched in mostly of decade. I bet you are likely under 18 that too scared to post about can't enters heaven, homosexual is sin and many things, also you don't mature enough to discuss about own wise and too scared that how's people are right. You refuse to listen what hootster and other forumers said then again, quit to act stupid and bullshit.

Nah, Clinton was out of office after 2nd term and I don't know what Clinton are doing. For my opinion, that terrorists who crashed on WTC are probably unhappy with Bush, recalled about happened in Persian War in 1991, also if Bush's father won the 2nd term in Nov 1992 then terrorist will occur in around 1993 or 1994. Clinton was just nothing with terrorist during his term, also many people in Arab countries are unhappy with Bush's family.

If Al Gore win the election then WTC will be leave on site and no one want hurts America until Bush won. THat all about my opinion.
