Venezuela government is sole owner of Citgo gasoline company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Ven ezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Take Action

Please decide that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?

Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government.

YOU CAN VERIFY THIS ON THE CITGO WEB PAGE.
CITGO.com, About CITGO

Make sure when you go to the above website check out what stations not to buy gas at so you aren't supporting this Dictator!!!

Would you buy gas from Citgo now you learned that dictator own this? jeez.. good thing i dont buy gas from citgo anyway..

Actually, Hugo Chavez is very good guy. Please don't believe what our news tell you how bad he is. His friendships from other countries informed Hugo that he was upset to learn that Bush sent his secret army to plot him in order to seize his oil. Hugo was ahead of time and ordered his army to protect him and his country. It was too late for Bush...

Hugo Chavez was on a TV show a few months ago, and told our reporter that he supported our people, but not the government. In fact, he sent some oil supplies to people in our country for a low rate. Do you ever notice that the Gitgo gas price is the lowest of all? Mobil and Exxol (sp) are well-known for corruption - now you know the problem that we are dealing with the gas prices.

Yes, we should buy gas at Citgo.

Another issue, why are we still buying many items that made in China? Is China government communism? i.e. toasters, toys, electronic games, household supplies, tools, and a lot more list. It is probably rare to see items from Europe in our country.

Er...what friends?

Let me see...Cuba, Iran, Ukraine, other leftist or dictatorships...wow great friends indeed.

As far as the US plotting anything against Venezuela, hogwash! Sure, it is well known that there is no love lost between the US and Venezuela for a variety of reasons. Chavez simply makes statements like that (the US is ready to attack and etc) for getting his people to not focus too closely how bad it is in the country. The average Joe in Venezuela isn't too pleased how Chavez is running things.

If you think he such a good guy, you are welcome to go there and live there yourself. You'll find quickly that it ain't paradise...

 :iough:

Huh? I'm a bit confused. Some say Chavez are good; some say Chavez are bad...

Can you please get the facts straight? I saw a link to a website but then the second poster said Chavez is a good guy... I'm confused.

Russia and China never be friend with America, but they have a good relationship for a business. We have only one planet that provides oxygen for us to breathe. Isn't that right?

I rather not live there. He is just ok. I hope that maybe someday he would changes his system. I think that there are so many poor people in his country. I am not interested the history stuff...

Boycott Venezula's oil?

Don't you all think you should boycott oil from the Middle East who was RESPONSIBLE for all the attacks on US interests? What have Venezuela done? Nothing.

Venezuela is a LOT more democratic than the Middle East despite some political problems.

So, I'll say, BUY CITGO!

I am not sure about this guy. Is he true his own people in his own country? He made promise to his people to build them new homes with oil profits but has he done it yet? I have heard a rumor, he ordered killing on his own people in his country. It is possible his country is no longer democracy but a dicatorship just alike Saddam and Castro.

I do not see democratic in his country. Why do we have many illegal aliens come here from there?

I am not sure if this is true that he ordered to eliminate his own people. I would think that our news are not telling the truth. He is trying to make some provisions for people from poverty to middle class, and create a better health system for all of his people. He is tired of seeing so many poor people in his country. I was told that some politicians are fraud or corrupted, and he had to replace them immediately. It is not perfect yet.

Jazzy, which would you rather live, Venezula where you have the right to helath care, freedom of speech, equal right as a woman, have freedom of religion, etc or in Saudi Arabia where you cannot be a Christian and freedom of speech is hardly tolerated and democratic process is a joke and women are inequal?

Most illegal aliens are from Mexico, not Venezuala.

Don't u think people from Venezula who are living in poverty (live in shack with no water running, no doctors, no jobs, no education) are better off than those women who live Saudia Arabia where they have plenty of water, oil, health system, schools, roof to live under? Yes women in Arab does not mind wearing cover, I can understand why women wear them to protect themselves from men who lust over them and rape them alike women in Venezula and here in USA. I do not agree with their religion impose on those women but at the same time I do not see freedom in Venezula when Chavez took over power and make himself dicatorship? People lost freedom of choice of who running thier country when he took over country just alike Castro did in Cuba. Now He is ally with Castro, Iran, N. Korea, does not it tell u something fishy about him? He controls and got rid of good, honest people who want same thing we have here in USA.

Many illegal aliens from Mexico came here in Ca, AZ and Texas while many illegal aliens from Venezula and others came in Fla.

He is a dicator which it is worst thing happen to his own people, people do not have choice to make laws nor have a way to disagree with him. It was free elections till he took over power and remove it.

People alike u need hard proof. I would tell u a few things about Castro and what he did to his own people, will u believe me? Nah. One of my friend who left Cuba years ago, he told me about what happened in prison, u know what they did to some of prisoners there? They threw them into water and gators ate them. will u find it in news? No. only mouth of words and for some reason I believe them and others don't. If one person from Venezula told what he/she saw and why would they made up lies if they knew what Chavez did behind his people's back? U believe them? nah bec u need a hard proof. It will be years before truth will come out? Just alike back in WW11, no one believe people when they told the stories about those camps not till after WW11 is over the shock came in.

Jazzy, you are clearly cognitively disconnected.

"Saudi women face severe discrimination in many aspects of their lives, including education, employment, and the justice system. Women are not allowed to drive or ride bicycles on public roads in large cities."

"Saudi Arabia is one of a number of countries where courts continue to impose corporal punishment, including amputations of hands and feet for robbery, and lashings for lesser crimes such as "sexual deviance" and drunkenness."

"In 1997, Human Rights Watch examined the case of Abd al-Karim Mara`i al-Naqshabandi, who was executed after being convicted of practising witchcraft against his employer."

"Freedom of speech and the press are restricted to forbid criticism of the government or endorsement of "un-Islamic" values. The government officially bans satellite television, but the rule is generally ignored. Trade unions and political organizations are banned. Public demonstrations are forbidden."

""Freedom of religion does not exist," the U.S. State Department's 1997 Human Rights Report on Saudi Arabia states. "Islam is the official religion, and all citizens must be Muslims. The government prohibits the public practice of other religions.""

Netrox is definitely right. I didn't know some of this stories (above).

A deaf Saudi woman was my classmate, and she told me that she forced to wear cover everything from head to foot. It is so hot for her and women in the summer. She obeys the laws. I heard that she has 6 children now. (I do not remember if her husband has two wives. Too werid.)

In Arab, if a woman loose her clothes to keep cool off outside in the public, her husband beats her badly, and he controls her. Some young women do not cover their head which mean to let the men know that they are singles.
That's their traditional, even the women hate it.

You guys - What about China? Our country owes a huge loan of money from China. We did not ask for the loan expect uneducated Bush. If China has oil and gas that provides us to buy from them? Will you buy the gas? For me, no way.

I wonder where did you learn Bush's order to send secret army to plot him? I think Chavez was telling us different story? I will not buy CITGO. This story draws me crazy if this is true or what? My hometown have CITGO stations. If Chavez is actually anti-American...

True but they didn't let their personal feelings stop doing what was best for their countries. Generally, countries try to find ways to work with others simply because they benefit from such interactions. Of course, US and Russia and US and China have to do a "dance" all the time to make sure nobody taking too much advantage over the other...

In the case of Venezuela, Chavez isn't even interested in a business relationship. For him, it is his way or the highway.

I'm not disagreeing with on his attempts to help the poor but his system is rigged to create "winners" and "losers". There has been many questionable things he has done in Venezuela that even his people have questioned. It has never been the poor of any country that has been the strength of a country (sorry to say). The trouble is to find a good balance between those of means and those who have not and that has never been easy to balance for any country.

U too, u do not know what is to living in poverty alike. For one ur not woman so do not tell me that I do not know about it. I do know and I do know some Arab men would not do that to their women. It is same here in USA, many men beat their women. Men still own women around the world. U do not know about women in South America too, many of them were battered and had to escape from men to come here and get away from them. Otherwise they get killed from their husband.
Many girls were sold into slavery in Asia and here in USA for sex slaves. And go on and on. Too many stories around the world, too many women are suffering in hand of men who have no respect for women.

U go ahead and living in Venezula and u will not be allow to speak any idea against this man Chavez. There is no freedom of speech under this man's rule
