Wonder why some businesses HANG UP on your relay calls? :-(

Hi,

Once in a while, when I place a phone call to a business through a relay service, the business hangs up on me. Not all of them, but some of them at least.

The main reason is Non-Deaf Scammers Using Relay Services [Link To Articles By Relay Operators!]. A business that has already been burned by a scammer calling through relay, will often no longer accept relay calls.

The now less-common reason is that businesses are not familiar with relay services and think they are telemarketing calls. Unfortunately, this reason is becoming less common than you think -- some businesses are sometimes hanging up on me because of scammers using relay services.

Doesn't it bother you when a business hangs up on you if you call them through relay? The Relay Operators tell their story...
 
I have a friend who is a relay operator. She says that the worst of all businesses is Domino's Pizza.

There has been a lot of relay scam and pizza delivery jokes to Domino made through the relay service. (Shady hearing people use relay to hide their voices)

That's why some Domino's locations will hang up on you if you call them through Relay.

:-x i have done that before... i was 19 yrs old that time and live with roommates...

one of my friend suggust me to call damino's pizza and deliver to the wrong door...

somehowe i called.. and give them wrong address.. then delievery guy arrived.. we were outside watching .. however that delivery guy have broken leg.. we feel bad and they rang and rang then left.. seesh never do again :-X
 
it happen to me more often whenever i need to call any business they usually hang up on me so i give the instruction to relay to not accoument the relay service just say my name and tell them it isn't telemarketing service etc ... it turn out work so well...

Interesting... I agree we wish that pizza people would be more
understanding... When I called their Dominos pizza,
they already have my home phone number ready and
I always try to tell the Relay person about what kind
of pizza i want large etc everything BEFORE this
relay person call the Dominos so that way they get
all the information... so that way they can NOT hang up
on me while getting all the orders ready and immediately...
 
Every time when I got very very excited
about any GOOD deal, GOOD sale,
GOOD buy etc.. found on these
newspaper advertisements... they ALMOST
ALWAYS HANG UP ON ME !!! For example,
I was very very excited about buying
a very small coffee shop in a Good Location
in Florida very cheap this owner kept
hang up on me over and over and over !!!
GRRRRRR....

another time I got very excited about
a small piece of land for sale up in the
mountains... very very cheap with
an excellent investment...
unfortunately this owner HUNG UP ON ME,
GRRRRRRRRRR

That's why I HATE HATE HATE
to make any more phone calls through
relay because of these jerks HUNG UP ON ME
FOR NO REASON... They might think
that anyone is WEIRD for using the relay....

GRRRRRR people who HUNG up on me are
bunch of IDIOTS for losing their opportunities
to sell their stuff plus they made me
very very angry ruining my day completely....
