Why Homes becomes so pricey now?

there is a beautiful big old house over 100 years old
about 7 or 8 bedrooms square shape my brother
is a carpenter he said that he really wanted
that house

I am depressed about this because I drove by
that house every day I almost bought it a few years
ago for $130,000 but now this EXACT same house
was on the market for $650,000 this year GRRRRRRRRR

Depressing...

Thats why I'm gonna GET OUT of this area !!!!!!!!

Thanks to Bush! He rank it all up and all he cares about is war that's it! He only cares about the rich but not the poor and middle classes who works our asses off! Doesn't he gonna realize that not all of us can afford a $500,000 house. We are having a hard time looking for the right home and that some of them have ranked up!

We will move to SC later on but for now. we r gonna stay around Indiana for a few more years so we will look into buying a home here!

Er...Bush has nothing to do with it. It wouldn't matter who the president was...the prices would still be high.

Several reasons off the top of my head...

1) Rising value of land. The less land to go around the higher the premium.
2) Cost of building homes has risen.
3) Builders prefer to build bigger homes because they make more profit.
4) The demand for bigger homes is there.
5) People tend to want to live in like minded areas (read similar means of wealth as themselves). That tends to price out the people of lesser means.
6) The more urbanized an area...the more costly it is which dovetails with reason #1.
