Why China ban Brokeback Mountain, when most chineses aren't Christians????

They are just homophobia or what?

Is it because of religion reason or health reason?

I was expecting someone from China or who is knowledgeable about China culture to reply.

So keep your rude remark to yourself.

And another reason why I posted this thread because some people saying "God does not hate" and make Christians look like bad people.

There are people with no religion, disagree with homosexual too. And all I wanna know is why.

That is a reasonable question.

I'm not positive but I have read and heard that Chinese communists have rather "prudish" sensabilities when it comes to movie selection. They consider emphasis on sexual things to be a Western (American and European) corruption and distraction from Communist goals.

What the heck is "montradictory?!"


Anyway, China didn't ban "Brokeback Mountain" because of any christian, religion, or other spiritual belief. (so why is it in this forum?)

Homosexuality is simply taboo there because the people in charge ordered it so, not because of any particular religion OF THE PEOPLE as far as I can tell.

Some sources I saw cite that the Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders still lists homosexuality as a mental disease, clinically giving doctors the right to force therapy onto those people.

It's not the people who are afraid of homosexuality -- it's the leadership and whatever Gods they worship secretly that has done the banning.
