Who has the Salvation?
I decided to post this thread to clarity up many misunderstood about Salvation with Christianity religious. Before I put up all info and I am very sure that you guys want to know about my Christian testimony.
When I grew up, I believed into Catholic because of my friends. Later on, I became atheist because of my friends. I had been atheist for long time and I put many religious people down by swearing and insult their beliefs. I was a high school boy at California School for the Deaf, Fremont about 16 years old. I came in a coward of Christian people and I begun to shoot them up with insulting and talking crap about Jesus Christ. Somehow, I felt so guilty and I do not understand why we do exist. Therefore, I keep saying there is no god, anyway. I met elder teacher at my school, about 35 years teaching teacher. She is Christian and we had brief debate about Christian and non-Christian. She pointed out about the “sin” issue and I could not debate that. I left and talked with my best friends. Someday they became Christian and they told me it is good news to them and it is for me, too. They brought me to her, which I cannot debate over sin. I felt guilty of my sin, which I had been porn addicted ( Adultery + Desire + Pride = SIN ). They explained about why sin begun and everything about it. Therefore, I believe Jesus Christ is my savior and he rose from death. He conquered the man’s fear of death. Jesus Christ died with holiness and he cleaned our sins that we can enter his kingdom, if we believe into Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. My school was in shock that I became Christian. I tried my best to convert from sin to holy person. At Gallaudet I, am heavy involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, and friend of Bryon Thackery. He is one that helps me to study about biblical thing. Maybe god uses me as pastor for California in future. I am young Christian but I have much information and I am not elder, yet. Maybe Dreamslayer and Reba are far better than I am, but I am sure that he can help me out with this thread.
Since many of you said, John 3:16. Once you accept Jesus Christ as your savior and you will have salvation for forever. This thread will explain to you who have the salvation.
I use Calvinism, and you can view it on ASL in Video by clicking on this link for explaining of Calvinism. http://www.deafreformed.org/calvinism.php BTW, I am new member of Deaf Reformed Ministries www.deafreformed.org
This thread is about Salvation may be very blunt for some of you.
Brother and Sister, and you may help me with this thread.
I read book ,”What Does Jesus Mean When He Says ‘Follow Me’? The Gospel According To Jesus” Revised and Expanded Edition.
(1988 and revised at 1994 published by Zondervan) by John F. MacArthur, Jr.
It explained about everything about Christianity and clarify our misunderstood with Christianity world. It was base with Bible and it was explained by John F. MacArthur. He is a Pastor at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. John F. MacArthur Jr. well known Christianity Pastor like Billy Graham.
You need to understand why we have SIN or you will not understand this thread.
To make your life much easier to look up at bible verses by clicking on that link and you choose whatever translator that fits you better. http://www.biblegateway.com/ You may notice I use space between ( verse ) So you can copy and paste it easily. I use NLT (New Living Translator) it is easy for me to understand it. I use NIV (New International Version) for study and analyze the bible. I wish I could understood Greek and Hebrew.
Following Jesus Christ is very costly.
That is the theme of this thread.
( Luke 14:33 ) So no one can become my disciple without giving up everything for me.
Many of us explained to others to believe in Jesus Christ as your savior. Therefore, Jesus Christ will save you from sin. We forgot the biggest picture of Salvation with convert from sin to holy person. We must convert our sin life to Jesus Christ’s life. Example, ( Matthew 7:13-23 ).
Many Christian said, that are savior by Jesus Christ and they kept doing sin life. They refused to convert their life to holy person. They never had the salvation from Jesus Christ ( Matt 7:21-22 ) ( 1 John 3:10 ) ( James 2:14-17 ) ( 1 John 2:4 )
Jesus Christ already knew the people who will go to his kingdom or hell before humans created on the Earth. ( Romans 8:29 ) ( Romans 9:11 ) ( John 15:16 ) ( Luke 19:10 ) ( Romans 3:11 )
Quote from the book. ”those who do not understand the seriousness of sin – cannot respond to the gospel. They cannot be saved, for the gospel is call to sinners to call the righteous.” page 72
Other quote “The truth of the gospel according to Jesus is that the only one who are eligible for salvation are those who realize they are sinners and they are willing to repent. Christ’s call is extended only to sinners who in desperation realize their need and desire transformation. Our Lord came to save sinners. But to those who are unwilling to admit their sin, he has nothing to say –expect to pronounce judgment.” page 73
Quote, “Salvation is by grace through faith. It has nothing to do with meritorious human works.” ( Ephesians 2:8 )
Matthew 19:21-30 “The Rich Young Man”
It is perfect example for the topic of this thread. Quote, “Our Lord gave this young man a test. He had to choose between his possessions and Jesus Christ. He failed the test. No matter what points of doctrine he might affirm, because he was unwilling to turn from what else he loved most, he could not be a disciple of Christ. Salvation is only for those who are willing to give Christ first place in their live.” page 85
Quote, ”True believers will persevere. Professing Christians who turn against the lord only prove that they were never truly saved. As the apostle John wrote, “They went out from us, but they were not really of is; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us” ( 1 John 2:19 ). No matter how convincing a person’s testimony might seem, once that person becomes apostate, he or she demonstrates irrefutably that the testimony was hypocritical and the professed salvation was spurious, God will keep his own. He “is able to keep [them] from stumbling, and to make [them] stand in the presence of his glory blameless with great joy” ( Jude 24 ). page 105-106 Judas refused to turn from his sin and selfishness even Jesus Christ warned him to repent and be saved.
I like that quote from book, “A real disciple, on the other hand, may fail Christ but will never turn against him. A true Christian might temporarily fear to stand up for the Lord but would never willingly sell him out. Inevitably, true disciple will falter, but when they fall into sin, they will seek cleansing. They will not wallow in the mire ( 2 Peter 2:22 ). Their faith is neither fragile nor temporary; it is a dynamic and ever-growing commitment to the Savior.”
If you still do not understand between people with no salvation and people with salvation.
You may want to read entry of ( Matthew 12 and 13 ). It explains clearly about the seeds on wayside, shallow, weedy, and good soil.
Very good quote, ”The superficial response is epidemic in twentieth-century Christianity. Why? Because the gospel is usually presented with the promise of joy, warmth, fellowship, and a good feeling, but without the hard demand to take up one’s cross and follow Christ. “Converts” are not confronted with the real issues of sin and repentance. Instead, they are encouraged to jump on the Jesus bandwagon for the good things they are promised. Yet underneath the shallow layer of resistance to the things of God. There is no true repentance; no surface is even harder than the roadside soil. And the eternal consequence is just as tragic. The initial enthusiasm is mere emotion; the germinating seed quickly die. These people are not saved ( 1 John 2:19 ). page 129
Reba, do you remember that I kept saying about Good Fruits and Bad Fruits? Here it the verses about it; ( Matt 7:15:20 ) ( Luke 6:43 )
Quote “Sin that unheard of in the church only a generation ago is now commonplace. Divorce and immorality are epidemic among Christians. Churches claiming to be evangelical smugly offer the right hand of fellowship to unmarried couples openly living together. Once fast-growing denomination consists almost entirely of practicing homosexuals. Man in the church believes them to be Christians because they affirm faith in Jesus.” Page 134 …. “The tragic result is that many people think it is fairly normal for Christians to live like unbelievers.” Page 135 We can not live with sin people and we should not invite any sinners to our house for our purity.
