Which resolutions and brands on HDTV you prefer?

I researched about alot of brands and resolution on HDTV. I realize that people bought 720p over 1080p. Why? Because they wanted cheap 720p than 1080p on HDTV there.

So, I am going to replace my 13 years old tv for new HDTV end of November or early December 2013. I would like to prefer 1080p and choose Insignia, Samsung and Sceptre. They are very good company.

Which resolutions and brands on HDTV you prefer? What your opinion on HDTV?
 
Samsung! Go 4 LED, you won't be disappointed.

Often when I visit Deafies homes, most of the time they got Samsung TV! When I bought Vizio, the captions were so bad, I had to test to make sure it is TV not the signal, after confirmed that Vizio does not have good caption as Samsung, I took it back and exchange for Samsung. No regrets afterwards!

I used to have a Zenith plasma in 1080p I used as a monitor, but I needed money, so I sold it on craiglsist for a fraction of a fraction what it was worth. :( The TV I use as a monitor now is too small and a little blurry.
 
Try going to a store that has demo units. I like the plasma because the output is clear and bright plus you can see it from all angles. What I don't like about LED is that if you look at it from certain angles it looks messed up and the only way it looks good is if you look directly at it. And even so the color and clarity isnt to the caliber of plasma IMO.
 
I would agree if it is old school LCD or LED. Today's LED TV is much better and I don't have issue watching from angle. Have you check them recently? I did test Plasma and I was not pleased with them especially when it comes to contrast, Plasma don't have good contrast as LED. When I first experience new LED, and when it goes black for next program to start, I actually thought TV went off position and for second I thought TV was broken only to find out it was working just fine. Plasma, and older TV can't do that. Also, when it comes to caption with black background, the letter is much clearer and sharper than Plasma TV can offer.

1080p or 720p? What size of Samsung tv? I know that Vizio is very good but I don't feel I will buy that Vizio tv. There is only one HDMI on Vizio.

Did you ever try on Sceptre or Insignia tv before?
 
1080, and no I haven't tried either of these brand.

Love my Phillip (720p) 32" HDTV. I had it for 6 years. Will buy new HDTV with LED when my old HDTV finally die.
 
Things a customer thinks about before buying a HDTV are size, price and quality in that order. 1080p is recommended as the prices are lower now. It also depends on what features you want such as 3-D, local dimming (LED-based), motion rate (LED-based), etc (of course, the price will be higher).

My next TV will probably be Samsung and comes with LED HDTV.
 
Is anyone having Toshiba HDTV? Is Toshiba HDTV good? I saw my dad's HDTV's pictures are very good and beautiful. It has 1080p and 1920x1080 which it is too big resolution. Wow.

Too big resolution? Try 4K (3840× 2160)

Anything, Always test at store before you buy. All depends on your eyes. All eyes's rods and cones are never exactly same like DNA. Like someone said it looks like light orange, Other said it looks like light yellow. There is no wrong or right.
 
Mine Samsung 55" LED 1080/240 .... love it very much! I'd get 4K tv once the price goes down...maybe next year? It'd be nice to have APPLE to develop HDTV with Retina.
 
I was told by a guy working in an independent A/V store that Korean brands tend to be a little better than Japanese ones. In my experience with TVs, LG, Samsung and Panasonic are all good. Sony not so much (certainly not for the premium price attached).

No point getting anything less than 1080p.
 
I have Insignia 32 inch 1080p. This tv has been a great tv. The caption is very clear and it has good view from side as well from front. For the money, it has been a great tv and would recommend it if you are looking for a good tv for decent price.

Hi, I went to Best Buy and saw Insignia 32 inch last Saturday. I asked sale associate for seeing CC on it. Whoa... I saw CC was very bright and clear as well as Insignia TV does. I will get new Insignia 32 in on the internet end of Nov or early of Dec. The price is not bad.

Yeah, same with cars, Kia and Hyundai. I see them almost everywhere at work, on streets, shopping plaza. Right now they make luxury cars to compete with Mercedes Benz, BMW, Lexus and others. No shit!

I have a 52" Samsung-1080P, 120HZ that is starting to go. Hoping it lasts long enough for the new Sony 4K TVs to go down. Once it does i will be at least a 65". I already have a new Sony 4k ready AV Receiver and a new Sony 3d Blueray player.
