Which electronic fax service do you recommend?

I saw eFax service which cost $19.95/month for sending/receiving electronic faxes but I don't think $19.95 are worth it...

Any other services besides eFax?

How are you going to send/receive fax with his free fax program? Do you get a free fax number?

eFax also has free basic service, eFaxFree, receiving only but will have to receive some email ads from eFax and third party.

I have the eFaxPlus ($12.95) account. (which I recommend)

Oh yeah I know eFax has a basic service for sending since I looked at an eFax website.

I saw $12.95 in the product overview, but if you do:

1. Go to www.efax.com
2. Choose "Get a new number."
3. Leave "Upgrade to eFax checked" and click Continue.
4. Enter a zip code or choose a state.
5. If choosing a state, select a city. I tried to enter zip code, 32310, but there's no Tallahassee.
6. Once you click "Create Account," notice that there's $19.95 for monthly billing option.

But what happens if I choose "Sign Up" from product overview with "$12.95" above the sign up button? Enter the zip and state, click "go" and at the bottom of the page says $19.95!

actually after when you enter zip code, then you have to find your area code, not city. If not listed, find nearest one or get toll-free number instead and still be billed for 12.95. That is if you clicked "Plus" in first place not Pro in the Product overview page. it show you the comparison chart for three eFax services.
 
Well there's no 850... I think I should convince eFax to add more area codes in Florida list...

My IP Relay (www.ip-relay.com), when registereing a phone number, has an area code of 850 but not eFax. I don't want to register for a toll-free number so I have to wait...
 
We have our own fax machine at home. It cost about $50 several years ago, and we claimed the cost as a business expense on our federal taxes. We use it about once a week.
 
I'm talking about electronic fax like you send it over the Internet. I don't have landline anymore.

OIC. :P

My iMac had fax software and capability included. I never got to use it because lightning destroyed my Ethernet, but the previous owner used the fax function almost every day for his business. So, you should be able to do that for free with your computer, too.

diddn't you read his comment? he says he dosn't have a land line.

http://www-virtualfax.com/ and get service for only $24 a year but the number isn't local. If you mostly send faxes then that would be good for you.

I havn't used it myself, but I don't have a land line either, I have Voip phone service and I've had very mixed results sending fax's with it.

They will someday..

They used not have any for Tucson then they finally had it so I went from basic to plus.

I don't do sending very much but I do receive more than that.
 
How far is Kinko from your apt? If it is not far, why not use them, they cost only 1 or 3 dollars depending on where sent out.

Plus do you have your own scanner? you may need them when fax online.
 
My printer is a printer/scan/fax. About "Kinko," what's that? A city? Not listed in list of Cities in Florida.

Yes, I know but I thought he had cable internet. My iMac was cable. Is cable considered land line also? I thought that referred to dial up only. What about the faxes that hook up to cell phones?

When some one says they have (or don't have) a "land line" they're referring to thier phone. a land line phone is a regular phone, (not a cell phone and not VOIP)

To send a fax you need a land line (phone line) you can't send a fax any other way unless you use a service like e-fax.

I forgot to mention , if I need to send a fax I usually go to office depot, or some other store, FedEX/Kinkos is another one. maybe check the yellow pages for "copy centers" lots of places offer a fax service but it's kindof expencive. if you send faxes every week it'd be cheaper to use something else.
