I think he meant it for a fast food restaurant unless I'm mistaken. I do know that there's Roy Rogers fast food restaurant chains here in the US.

Jolie, thanks :) tis my fault tho. You are so sweet. I remember a Roy Rogers chain restaurant.

Nope, it's not a restaurant.

If I was talking about restaurants, then the same thing would apply to Shirley Temple. ;)

If you really have to know...

Shirley Temple is Cherry 7*Up with cherry.

Roy Rogers is Cherry Coke with cherry.

These drinks are known as "kiddie cocktails" since they don't contain alcohol.

The Shirley Temple was created at an adult celebrity party that the little girl named Shirley Temple attended. Since she was little, she couldn't have alcohol and felt left out. So, the bartender offered to make a drink and name it after her. She rejected because she was a kid and could not make money off of it. They went ahead years later and it became popular.

Roy Rogers was named after an actor named Roy Rogers. This drink is also known as Darth Vader or Black Shirley Temple.

I learned about Shirley Temple years ago when I went to Applebee's. I asked what drink they had and they mentioned 7*Up. I asked if they could add cherry to it and they said, "Oh, a Shirley Temple? Sure!" I was confused for a moment until I learned what it actually meant.

A few weeks ago, I was eating at a local Dave & Buster's. I normally order Cherry Coke. One day, I got the check and noticed that it had my meal and "Roy Rogers". I was like, eh? I looked it up on my Sidekick and found out what it meant.

So, that's two drinks that that you all might enjoy. ;)

Here's a listing of non-alcoholic drinks (aka "kiddie cocktails")...

Some of them are not well known and restaurants may do them differently. So, check with your restaurant before making it your favorite drink.

For instance, this webpage says that the Shirley Temple is ginger ale with cherry and orange juice. However, Applebee's restaurant makes it with Cherry 7*Up with cherry. Since I know this is part of their drink selections, I can safely say that and know what I will get.

Other places might make it differently. :thumb:

Didn't know Roy Rogers was Cherry Coke...I will keep that in mind next time I order a Cherry Coke. :)

I didn't know what Roy Roger till you just mentioned it! I know Shirley Temples. I ordered it MANY times when I am not in mood for any alcohol. Or just for heck of it! I am not crazy about Cherry Coke so I'll stick with S.T. :)

As a former bartenter........I hate them both because the servers were too lazy to go in the back and throw some grenadine in the soda!!!
