I am looking for a good still digital camera with a reasonable price. I was told that 5 mp or higher is better.

Now, it is not easy for me which one that I should buy: a still digital camera or a digital video camera. It's because there are some tricky about their ads.

For example, a digital video camera contains 1.3 mp and other brand contains 1.1 mp. I am confused if they are talking about a still digital camera's resolution or itself in video's resolution quality.

We purchased an Olympus many years ago (my husband is a tight wad) and it works great! Even now, when my husband has it held together with duct tape!

Kodak digital camera is now number one seller in the world for simple point and shoot. Already beat Sony! It got the world best lens, that is why they are able to take pictures in incredible quality. However for better than that, SLR like Olympus which cost much more.

I have Kodak camera, with 4.1 MP but has super zoom, INCREDIBLE zoom! I could take something size of 8 by 10 at about 15 feet away! Only problem with this incredible zoom ratio, the picture quality is compromised, and best use tripod.

I have a Olympus C-765 ultra zoom 4 megapixel, it works great and I love it and it does great zoom ups with 10x optical zooms. :D Olympus and Canon are good ones, Kodak is good beginner digital cameras, I believe. There are lot of reviews online telling you which is best buy for your needs.

Right, and that my Kodak camera is 30x optical zoom! I think 10x is sufficient.

That's 30x digital zoom...No point and shoot digital camera has 30x optical most max out at 12x optical. :P

5 mp or higher DOESN'T make better picture. It's only a size it will print.

Here is example...

Print Size.........Megapixels...Image Size on Monitor
2.1" x 1.6"........0.3.............640 x 480
4.25" x 3.2"......1.2.............1280 x 960
5.3" x 4"..........2.0.............1600 x 1200
6.8" x 5.1"........3.0.............2048 x 1536
10" x 6.5".........5.3.............3008 x 1960
10.25" x 6.8".....6.3.............3088 x 2056
13.5" x 9".........11.1............4064 x 2704

I've got a 4.1 MP Kodak Easyshare.. It works really great and had no problem with it. I also bought Easyshare printer dock and I love it! I'm a picture freak! It cost me $150 just for the digital cam I thought that was pretty reasonable.

a digital camera's storage card

What are the pros and cons for a digital card (camera's storage)?

CompactFlash (CF)
Memory Stick (MS)
SmartMedia (SM)
SmartDigital (SD)
xD-Picture Card card (xD)
etc.

Which one is more stable, and which one is fragile? etc...

i own sony cybershot 3.2 MP.. and it use memory stick. i liked the memory stick.. yet they're pricy.. however i never broke them before.. its been wet and washed in washing machine (i forgot to check my pocket before put in washing machine) it turned out fine.. everythings stored in wasn't lost or damaged..

i have 128 MB MS card.. i enjoy that better than 16MB card that comes in with camera. however 128MB is pricy.. but alot of pictures are stored in.. can hold up to around 720 pictures in VGA format.
or movies up to 1 hour and 30 min for (email size)

Well i don't think to compare to other digital camera. I used have HP digital camera for 6 years, which has no problem. So I decided to purchased Sony Mavica CD-500, already fell in love with it. Been used it alots. But I recommended to y'all to buy this, or u won't be regret it. The website, u can check it out for more information.

Canon G6 is pointless and waste money for high MP that you dont need it. So you need get Canon G5. Right now it around $300-$350 from ebay.
