Hello , I am looking for a list with countries across world that have captioning subtitles on TV. Any ideas? I am willing to start emailing at TV shows and make a facebook group to deaf friends in Greece, so as to get the right to have the TV captioned... I need some info on this.

Nah, does not likely look like definite spam. There are genuine questions that pertain to deafness.

sp3cial, most asian countries have subtitles for their programs. Not 100%, though, but to my impression they subtitle nearly everything they show on TV.

Isn't it weird they joined over a year ago and it's their 4th post?

There are some deafies who joined 3+ years ago and have yet to make a post... :P

And they still browse around!

Remember before you joined and you were a wee little reader with a whopping 0 posts?

I call it "breaking in", some of these folks take longer to "break in" and start posting on a regular basis. Heck, I remember before I joined in 2006 I was reading every now and then in 2005 without being registered - we have a lot of readers who aren't signed in or registered to read what we write. *cue james bond spy theme*

I come from Sweden. There, TV channels put text on all foreign speech except for children's programs. Take a look here: Subtitle (captioning) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello people.

LoL It's not spam! I had a question came up on my mind. The wikipedia site is USEFUL! There is a list for countries having shows captioned :O Exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately Greece has now only a TV channel with captions at the night shows only. We also have a channel for deaf which as it seems is not always captioned or interpeted lol... So I am willing to get a group of greek deaffies and supporters to send emails and signatures to the channels requesting our rights in TV world, entertainment, information, education and news.

(And sorry for having a long time joining your forum, there is no excuse :( )

In Australia are there any deaf subtitles?
