I was curious to some of our member's workout schedules. As I am always looking to improve my workout routine, for the sake of striving to get the best out of my time.

Currently, the most workout that I do is cardio, in the form of jogging, and bicycling.
I used to go for 5 mile runs in 1 hour, 6-7 days a week straight for a about ~3 years, until I realized that I was causing myself more future pain rather than working it out, read as bone disintegration or problems if I get to an old age like 50.

Nowadays I go for 3-4 days a week, cut down to ~3-4 miles a session. Sat. & Sundays for sure, due to the hearty meals consumed at restaurants on the weekends. I also shoot for hills and natural slopes in my jog path, as I've read these have a tremendous effect on your progression and performance.

Lately I've been thinking about incorporating standard bodybuilding workouts but all I have are a few dumbells at home ranging from 10s to 20s.

Anyone have a few pointers on that?

As a personal preference I try to avoid the gym when necessary because I am more of a "I believe working out should not cost money" person.

during the winter months, i run on my treadmill for one hour 5 days a week. weather permitting, i will also go for 2 hour walks.

during the spring, summer and autumn, i walk several times a day (2+ hours) 7 days a week. these consist of standard walks and power walks (with my guide dog).

i used to have a membership to a gym, but cancelled it due to the fact that i could do many of the same things (i.e. running around a track, treadmill) at home.

I use a combination of gym and bike riding during each week.

There are plenty of exercises you can do at home, even with light weights. Take a look at this website:

Good luck! :)

Thanks for those links omega. I especially appreciate the animated diagrams.
Do you have any set number of repetitions for the methods you choose?

Yeah, I also use the animated diagrams as a guide, too..:)

At the gym, I usually try to do 3 set/6-8 reps depending on how well I perform. I only do 3 sets for upperbody exercises such as chest and arms. But your goals might be different than mine..:)

I have light weights at home, so I usually try to do more reps until I struggle. People say it is not good to do too many reps, but I find I am getting good results.

You seem to have a good attitude towards fitness and training, so I am sure you will get results, too..:)

I do walk for 2 or 3 miles during spring/summer or fall its would be good for me to exercise sometimes i walk 15 minutes from my homes kept me lose weight and also lose calories.

 When I wake up, I sprint to the bath room, then I dash to the coffee pot. That's enough exercise for me for one day! :giggle:

I bought Core Rhythms its a whole lot of fun so far :)
