they can but then... they won't get far in life (intellectual pursuit) that way.

Now you see why I said English (or whatever language) is more imporant than math.

well then - if that's the case.... why are there so few wealthy writers? and far more wealthy mathematicians (or science-related)?

Good people skill , you can all of the about and have poor social skills.
My daughter had a friend that was high honor student and the girl told my daughter she wish she had better socal skills .

I don't know if there is a savant with good social skill :dunno:

It's like having our own sullen teenager popping out of the basement to make sarcastic remarks!

Reason why I didn't make more than 4 choices, was because most of the internet doesn't seem to do well with more than 5 choices. :P

I have proof of this!

I can agree with that, somewhat, as my son is high honor roll (advanced), and his social skills aren't so good....finds it difficult to make friends at times, and some calling him a book nerd!...He's a "keeper", and the friends he does have, are long time acquaintances.....However, my other son is moreso a "football jock", and makes friends so easily.

Gay hippie? :)

I bought this huge rainbow flag from Florence, Italy that says "PACE" which is italian for peace.

But Im pretty sure it signifies peace with gay people.

Gay + hippie = Gippie? Does this word exist?
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gippie
apparently, it does.

Who is against it? I couldn't make good use of the computer without language skills.

Wasn't naming anyone out, just bringing constructive criticism into the debate. But I was speaking more in context of the pioneers who create the hardware, and those who create the software for the rest of us to use. That kind of math; which has also "computer language" to an extent, but that's not what I mean. The math I'm referring to is more inline with all mathematics, from algebra to logic. Like, it'll cover theoretical math as well.

There is also the dregs of the internet around.. whom most intentionally use horrible language skills. See 4chan.org for reference.

I don't care what area that people are stupid in because each of us has potential to contribute something to the humanity - the idea.

If my English/math sucks or I never graduated from high school... I most likely will be cleaning your toilet and sweeping the floor but if I inspire this person - my kid or somebody's kid or whoever..... to be a better man who can make a big impact on people's lives... that's just awesome.

Yeah soug, but keep in mind the topic is not on just any language but English, as in North America perspective.

There are tons of oriental/indian/romanian/french/etc Math professors, but their english is not the best. Jacques Tits can be a good example.
