What you expect from a campground when you go camping?

Tell me what you like to see in a campgroud and what turns you off when you go camping.
 
What turns me off is when I see an outdoor pool, indoor pool, tennis court, basketball court, electricity, city water, etc....

I love camping in the forest with no electricity or water. I'm all for taking a dump in the woods, taking a bath in a creek, building a bonfire, and have a beer, and scream as loud as you want without getting kicked out. :mrgreen:

ohh.. no rv's for me.. maybe when I'm 50... but right now.. I love being in a tent!
 
I expect:

Fire pits
Picnic Tables
Garbage cans
Outhouses
and I like to have a shower, or at least a river or lake to clean-up in.

But other than that, I don't want much besides a flat place to pitch a tent.

I have found that if I have to go too many days digging holes to bury my poo, I am not having fun anymore.

An RV Park with all those extras is just not the same as camping though.
 
I am turned off when I see garbage all over the campsite by previous "residents". Most of the times whenever my husband and I go out to camp, we noticed that there are more and more immature college-aged people getting all boozed up and smoking whatever around the campsites. It irriates me that people don't respect the wilderness by littering.

For me to camp out, I will prefer the campsite to have at least one facility somewhere that has are water (sinks), showers, and bathrooms et cetera... just in CASE (and if there is a such facility, they better have recycling bins! It doesn't make sense if you don't have recycling bins at a campsite which you ask people to "respect the nature by leaving the plants and animals alone"???? I got an even better idea!, you can treat the planet BETTER by recycling!!!! LESS POLLUTION....!

As you can see, littering is my biggest issue when it comes to camping out.

(oh, yes I will LOVE to see more tables around campsites. it is an annoyance to have your stuff being attacked by whatever bugs that crawl around on the ground! :pissed:)
 
I expect a cute chick to visit my cabin for a hot and wild one night stand! :naughty:

I expect all nature, no man-made anything at the site, except the tent and cooking items I bring. I love to camp out there where there is no electricity, paved roads (dirt roads okay) or cabin. I used solid dead logs (not the hollow ones) as chairs, and my lap as my table. :D Just like the old times before the first cars were made.

Also, I expect to have my horses running freely (in the fenced meadow, of course).

This is similar to my hunting camp I went several times. No motorized vehicles, no outhouses, no running water, no electricity. That is my favorite kind of camping. :thumb:
 
Turn me off from campground is..

Trash (not clean)

Make sure outdoor bathroom or showers are clean!
