What vehicles did you used to learn shift stick driving in?

Subaru RS 2000 in 2002.

I drove my exgf's 90's Saab 9-3 with 5spds manuals and turbocharger.

I bet Derek jealous.

Just learned how to use 15 speeds manual from the semi-truck in two years ago.

Lol, I don't have to drive EVERY turbocharged cars, do I??

1954 Massey Harris Pony farm tractor. The year was 1988 and I was 7 years old. Grampa thought a mechanical babysitter was awesome, and it didn't go fast enough to get into serious trouble and would go all day and then some on a tank of gas...

Then, when I was 17, I bought a 1942 Ford model 2N tractor and put a gazillion miles on it before I could legally own a car (age to legal own in AK is 18).

Both are stick shift. Now, I have 1942 Ford, 1953 John Deere, 1967 Chevy, 1951 Allis Chalmers (3 of these actually), 1939 Ford, 1992 Geo Storm with stick, a 1995 Windstar with the 5-speed from a 1993 Taurus (that was a booger to modify for the shorty shifter on cable and put a clutch pedal in!! I'll never do that again!), 1991 Toyota HiLux, 1990 Subaru, 1984 Volvo, 1971 F250, 1978 F250, 1988 Bronco, 1989 F350, 1971 Case M580 (two of these), 1994 Saturn, 1946 Hugh Payloader, 1995 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible... That all the stick shifters I have at the moment... The slush-o-matics are another story...

My first vehicle I learned that was manual was a 1979 Yamaha 100 Enduro, then a 72 Honda CB350, then I moved into a 1987 Suzuki Samuri Tin top... since then Ive owner a 1990 Daytona and a 1987 Daytona with t tops.... and so on.... All manuals until recently.

The secret is using emergency brake ;) Pressed just enough to let it move very slowly, when green comes back, let go of clutch and press gas at same time release e brake.

Sometimes, I don't use the e-brake. :) I would pull far enough to touch a little over the crosswalk at the flat area which there is no car in front of me. More tricky to do that in rain going up hill. I ended up spinning tires going up hill in rain.
