What occupations can benefit from the cold weather?

Water pipe burst in garage attic. Replaced 4X4 sheet in ceiling and about 7 feet of back wall that was soaked. Cannot finish until weather warms.

TCS, so is that a length of PEX piping that u used to repair the burst line?

Here are some more pics. It shows after many of my things removed from the cabinets. The water poured down into the cabinets onto the bench. I dried out my drill and charger, metal detector, all the tools in the metal cabinet and dozens of parts drawers. A small air compressor, hydraulic floor jack, finish nailer and other things were in the bottom that I removed before taking the pics.

Yes. The plumber said it is a new type that cannot burst if it freezes. That is only good for those 12 inches.

I talked to a plumber not long ago somewhere.....in Home Depot, I think...and he said PEX is the best thing ever. Just about the only thing that can go wrong with PEX piping is gnawing by rats......

Those who ask about how to keep pipes from freezing what I've used in the past is an electric heated cable for water pipes (if the pipes can be gotten to)... just wrap it around the pipe and just plug it in and it will keep the pipes above freezing ... the newer ones even have a thermostat on them now and come in different lengths... 6, 12, 18 and 30 foot lengths that I've seen.
Shop EasyHeat 6-ft 42-Watt Pipe Heat Cable at Lowes.com

I forget about that! I saw it at Lowes like few years ago. I will recommend it to my parent. Thank you.

Actually, after letting the tools dry out all day, the drill and charger seems to be working ok. I tried my metal detector and it is working. The instructions said just do not submerge the unit in water other than the sensor on the end. I was fortunate.
