What kind of energy are you using for heat at home? If you don't see any on poll list then vote other and post here.

You can say about prefer to use energy for heat.

For me, I use natural gas for heat, except for stove.

we are all electric but I prefer to use steam pipe for heating. fireplace would be nice.

This apartment provides a natural gas for heat ($120/monthly average) and I couldn't wait to move to new apartment that has everything in electric in few weeks from now. One thing I like about natural gas is cooking, it makes water to boil faster than electric.

That's why I have portable electric water heater. It's much much faster than gas/electric stove. Natural Gas is so damn $$$$$$$ :mad2:

actual, gas stove does the cook better way than electric thru my experience on every cooking in my life. I would go for gas stove.

Well, I wasn't aware of natural gas cost more than electric but far cheaper than heating oil and LG gas, however natural gas will be cheap than electric when oil price is $10-$20 per barrel, price of natural gas is mostly tied to oil price and it was very expensive in last 1-2 years ago but should be reasonable now.

I forget to add LP gas to poll list, ugh.

We have an electric heat pump for whole-house heating, and we have a very efficient wood stove (and lots of free wood) that heats a large part of our house when the weather is cold enough to use it.

we're not talking about cooking food. it's about boiling water. it costs more to boil water with gas stove than electric stove. but I use portable water heater which is faster and cheaper than those stoves.

2 years ago - the gas bill costs nearly twice more than electric bill. :mad2:

Ouch, in my area isn't bad, gas is usually cost more in winter and cheaper in summer, for 4 family members in 1 medium house cost around $200 per month for gas, however we use electric for stove and dryer.

This house is electric heat which is baseboard heaters. My room don't have any heater, so they provide a radiator heater with electric coils to heat it up. I don't use it much anyway because I sleep better in a cooler room than a hot room.

I voted electric. I believe the place I am moving to has natural gas. I should be OK with it as it doesn't get that cold at night time here.

I use gas heater as it is cheaper than electric heater over here. However, sometimes I use reverse cycle air conditioner to heat the room quickly before putting gas heating on. Then I am warm as toast. :)
