I'm an American mutt, half Swedish and half German.

Fire away.

I'm all manner of western European. The biggest ones are Irish, Spanish, Scottish, Hungarian. My kids will be even more mixed: my other half is Italian with a little Native American sprinkled in. :)

I'm italian and jamaican :) I have other great grandparents and such that are other races but I just go by what my parents are...it's easier that way lol

Race: Caucasian
Ethnicity: in percentage order, and very distant, English, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish

Sono:

If you are part Native American, you are racially part Asian. :D However, I don't even subscribe to the theory of race. We are all human.

I am English, German, Irish, and a bit of a blend of midwestern tribes. Bits and pieces of others, too. We call it midwest mix-up. :cool2:

English.

Although my surname (Yarnall) is a corruption of ArneHald which is of Norweigen heritage - the Vikings settled in Wocester in England in the 9th century. It's not a common surname, and there's quite a few over in America.
Having said that, my maternal grandfather was Indian (that's British Raj Indian not the mohawk kind :) ), and my paternal grandmother was irish.
I could claim to be Irish or Indian, but I'll settle for being English :)

Race: Human.
Ethnicities: Norwegian, Swedish, German, Czechian.

I imagine most people in America, unless they're fresh off the boat, are going to mix of nationalities. We're the damn melting Pot. Anyway, my grandparents are into genealogy, both sets are Mormon. One of my grandmothers followed her line, and found that they came to America in the 1700's from france, we've been a mixing for a long long long time. As far as I know I have French, German (on both sides) Irish, English Welch and touch of Cherokee. Could be more I suppose, I have no idea.

Germans were the largest European ethnicity to immigrate to the United States.

So much so that the ruling elite at the time worried that America would lose its Anglo-American tendencies and become too "Germanish."

Which is nonsense, of course. Germans assimilated into American culture as well as any group.

But it's interesting to note how all the teeth gnashing about immigration today is nothing new. It has all been said before in the past, about European immigrants.
