You can say whatever you want.

I am a Christian, so I said "Merry Christmas!" Christmas is past, so now I say "Happy New Year!" Last month (November) I said, "Happy Thanksgiving!"

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day are legal holidays in the United States. There is no legal holiday in the US called "Holidays". :D

Of course, any day of the year you can say, "Have a wonderful blessed day!" :P

I believe the majority rules and this PC business is sickening cuz I think we all are more alike than not! So there! And Merry Christmas.

As a Christian : I use "Merry Christmas" - I feel it is a proper way to use/say instead of usin'/sayin' "Happy Holidays".

I think what surprises me most is that religious traditionalists do not protest the "unholy" origins of the day. If I was very fundamentalist, I would be upset about it. It's almost like when we look at a picture of Jesus, he's painted as a caucasian male with the genetic facial features characteristic of anglo-saxons, but we know that Jesus probably looked much more like the people of his time and his location; medium-skinned, short, wider face, et cetera. I do not hear much protest of that either. That just surprises me a little.

As for me, since I know the exact date of Jesus' birth wasn't written down, it doesn't bother me that the day chosen happened to be significant to those of other religions as well.

To many Christians now, perhaps because education in their religion isn't as strong as it used to be (tends to be on the Sunday-school level rather than the kind of serious scholarship you see in some other religions), it may be the association of "X" with the Greek chi is simply not a well known fact anymore. So you see people believing that it's a way of cutting Christ out or insulting him.

BTW, a little bit off-topic, I have always wanted to attempt to draw a more "accurate" portrait of Jesus. :)

When I was a kid (before I was a Christian), I had my own Nativity creche, with molded rubber figures. Even as a kid I knew a blonde Mary, and a blond Jesus were "wrong". I used to put together and paint lots of models, so I had paints and brushes. I carefully painted the hair on Mary and Jesus black. :) (For some reason, Joseph and the shepherds came with brown hair.) I also painted a couple of the sheep black, so I had an "integrated" flock. I used a strip of real cloth to wrap Baby Jesus in real swaddling clothes because He looked too cold in just the "diaper" that He came in (everyone else at the manger was wearing lots of clothing and robes, so why was a newborn Baby in just a diaper?)

Sorry, :topic:

I'm not sure if this may be related to what this thread is about, but I got this thru email from RR which was send by his sister....I thought I would share this along with you all ;)

YOU CAN'T STEAL MY CHRISTMAS

Poem by Sharon Steege

I don't know who they are
Saying I can't greet the crowd
The way that I want to
Can't say CHRISTMAS out loud.

I walk into a business place
See things that I rather not see
But dare I not say CHRISTMAS
And ask for a "holiday" tree.

What happened to freedom of speech
And living in the land of the free
How can they take my CHRISTMAS money
But can't say MERRY CHRISTMAS to me.

Men and women have given their lives
So we could still go free
I wonder how they would feel
At saying "HOLIDAY" TREE.

Come on AMERICA let's wake up
Don't let our freedom escape
If they get by with doing this
What else will they take.

This is starting to get out of hand,
And I've begun to keep track
Well I've just about had enough
I'M TAKING CHRISTMAS BACK.

So MERRY CHRISTMAS AMERICA
I hope this gets all over the net
If we all stand united and take freedom back
'Twill be our best CHRISTMAS YET!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY AND HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS SEASON.

^^^ It is right place to post here. You get GOOD point there!

Wanna know I use say Merry Christmas and I would say Holiday no matter what they believe or not. Also, I am Christian, too. :)

I always said "Merry Christmas" to my friends, my family and my neighbors but I don't say it when I go out to shopping at the store or whatever or eat at restaurant and I said "Happy Holiday."

Have seen that one, thanks. :)

I dunno exactly how my drawing will be if I decide to do it--still in the very early stages of thinking it up.
